EARTHQUAKE2689 09-22-2013, 07:53 PM Again we drafted a questionable guy in Rambo. My question to the NFL is why are they doing their utmost to promote hip hop culture, when it ultimately is going to bring it down. The prices are outrageous and the quality of the product on the field is abysmal anymore. Murderers, rapists, heavily tattooed idiots, you name it. Unless I can get some cheap seats I won't attend another NFL game again. It is a rip off.
This isn't The Replacements with Keanu Reaves.
firstdown 09-22-2013, 07:54 PM I know our problem RGII needs to run out and do an interview for another article because the thousand he did don't seem to be working.
EARTHQUAKE2689 09-22-2013, 07:54 PM 2 plays that would have changed the game entirely - RGIII's head-first slide/fumble and Aldrick Robinson's td drop.
Not guaranteed, but we would be looking at this team and season much more differently if neither of these plays happened.
And the ill-advisied interception on the pass when we were threatening to score.

Is this really a relevant discussion right now?
The Goat 09-22-2013, 07:56 PM I don't think it's wise to get rid of anybody. But I think it's time to re-adjust expectations because this team is still trying to get back to its identity of last season while also dealing with RGIII's injury (and with that - protecting him more this year).
This team is probably not going to make the playoffs and everyone just has to accept that fact. What fans should do is look for signs for improvement for next year. That way it's not about winning or losing when you watch the games and the games will be more entertaining. I'm not leaving out hope that they can't turn this around, but 0-3 is just too big of a hole to dig out of to start the season. I also don't want to blow up this whole thing because of a bad start that had a lot of things that went against the Redskins this season so far.
Blow it up and hope for what? The next Chip Kelly? No, I'll hold out at least until next season when Alfred Morris and RGIII are more seasoned and probably more prepared with RGIII healthier. And there will be more cap space with the possibility of bringing in more db talent and maybe drafting a speedy wideout that can catch the ball.
If they can't get anywhere by next season, then I say fire everybody.
The problem I have with posts/opinions like these is they assume coaching talent is forever limited to what we see today, and then adding a second illogical assumption we'll automatically make a rash move e.g. Chip Kelly. You could just easily point to Pete Carroll, who's completely turned Seattle into a contender. Or the Colts. New coach, lots of new faces, and they're kicking ass. Or what Elway did in Denver, pull together two coaches from pretty listless situations and suddenly that team is a contender (don't forget, Denver was winning before Peyton got there, it's just that now it's a powerhouse team).
The point is, human capital, in this case coaching talent, is NEVER a limited supply. This coaching staff/chemistry sucks from top to bottom. Mike has sucked for over a decade, and that's why Denver kicked him to the curb. Haslett has never achieved anything to write home about. Same with Kyle, when he left Houston they didn't skip a beat. We have losers leading this team, period. Aside from a brief 8 game stint where the stars perfectly aligned - rest of the NFC East completely fell apart, new offensive scheme took defenses by surprise, etc. - this has not been a serious football team since Mike came to town.
Find the right coach, and this team could be a contender in a year or two. We see it happen over and over and over again around the league. It's our turn.

Yes. I forgot about that one.

What does any of this exactly mean? They draft players to play a game, sometimes there are bad apples, but that happens everywhere.

The #Redskins have allowed 1,464 yards through first 3 games, most in NFL history.
This speaks for itself.

Trent Williams: "It doesn't feel good to be 0-3. It sucks. But there's nothing we can do about it now." #Redskins
Nothing you can do about it Trent? You can ****ing start playing with a purpose and like you guys are being paid to do.or TW could do a couple bong hits.

We have been trying to find the right coach/qb combo for over a decade. And now that we have one- you want to start over and try to find another one? This is barely year 2 of Shanahan and RGIII. Just be patient and let it play out. RGIII's still recovering from an injury and the offense is still trying to get back to last year's form. They look like they're taking baby steps to get there, but they are getting there. And when they do- you'll be backtracking a little bit.
