Well, I feel like if the Redskins don't press Calvin Johnson some this weekend, they are going to be in for a long day.
It wouldn't work anyway. Wilson is first string on the depth chart.
CJ is 6'5.
Wilson is 5'9.
CJ runs a 4.3 40 yard.
Wilson runs a ???
lol I don't think the dude can do it. D Hall may be able to keep up speed wise but his coverage blows.
Nobody forced Haslett to take the job? That has got to be the lamest excuse for Shanahan I've ever heard:rofl:
It's not an excuse for Shanahan, I'm saying Haslett is the DC and his job is to run the D, simple as that.
I don't buy any excuses for him, sorry.
Seems like a couple of teams each year switch to the 3-4. Not sure why it's viewed as some sort of crazy idea.

The reason the Skins struggle on D is not because of the 3-4.
If the Skins couldn't tackle or cover in a 3-4... what makes people think they would be able to cover or tackle in a 4-3. Still the same players having to make the same kind of plays.

This I agree with. The 3-4 is quite successful in the league, so it's not an issue with the defensive set up. Players have to tackle, it's as simple as that.

Exactly.
I'm amazed that some people are still hung up on the 3-4.
Talent & execution always brings the most out of a scheme.

I said:
"Haslett is responsible for the defense Now,but it was Shanahans hare brained ideal to hire Haslett and blow up our 4-3 defense that was never suited to run the 3-4 and weve pretty much sucked since then,so you could kinda say its all Shanahans fault"
You replied:
"Nobody forced Haslett to take the job."
How else am I supposed to interpret that?
Thats like a daycare hiring a child molester than when something bad happens saying well nobody forced the child molester to take the job.
As far as teams switching to the 3-4 every year,so what, thats got nothing to do with the situation as it was back then
Anyone else notice how much press-man coverage the Chiefs played last night? Why don't the Redskins do more of that? At least hit the guy before he gets into his route. With Orakpo and Kerrigan coming from the edges, that's all they need, is a little more time to get to the QB.
We don't have the most physical corners around.
And if you want to play press it helps to have some good safeties behind them, another thing we're lacking.

Defense was 28th last year in yards, and has 2 rookies starting in the secondary. We had no cap space to do anything. I'm not sure why anyone thought they would even be middle of the pack. Getting back cap space hopefully means more veterans competing for jobs next year.

I don't really agree with skip bayless on most things but I agree with most of the things he said in this article.
