I wonder if we can pry Joe Haden from Cleveland in the fire-sale over there.
Who says it's a fire sale? The current Browns executives are obviously trying to position themselves to trade up in the next draft for a player who they hope will become their Franchise QB. That's what the previous Browns executives should have done when they had the chance to get RGIII.

Yeah but they just spent a high first rounder on Trent? They also gave up a 4,5,and 7 to get him on top of that? They are going to have probably a top three pick anyway? To me it seems like they are basically giving up Trent for another first round pick on top of the qb they are already going to be in position to get. Only time will tell.

The new FO and coaches don't believe Richardson will fit in their long-term plan, might as well trade him now while his value is still high. Mid to late 1st round pick is still better than latter rounds. They can trade away that 1st round pick to stockpile on 2nd and 3rd picks on first day of draft. Either way, it's win and win situations for both Browns and Colts.

Norv loves power backs though. Its going to be win for somebody but i think its to early to say yet. If trent/luck turns out to be manning/james than colts win for sure - pending on who browns get with their pick from the colts will tell if its a win for them.
Edit: you need a top rb at the end of the day imo and they gave up alot to get one. Now he is gone and your holding an unknown in your hands. They were going to be in position to get a qb.

Another option I would of liked to seen is for them to persue trading Richardson out of the AFC.
An NFC teams with draft picks to throw around in need of RB ... the St. Louis Rams would have been a nice fit.
Plus the Browns would have received a higher first round pick.

Good point. Not only did they keep him in conference but the colts might not have a very high pick. Every team needs a good rb. Trent looked like he was emerging as one of the best. Everything i hear about him says he was very liked by his teammates too. Besides the jags the browns are the worst team in football. They could have taken one of the qbs coming out next year without making this move. They traded the third overall pick for probably the twentieth.
Does anybody else think the browns made a mistake?

I dont think the Brown made a mistake at all. The guy honestly hasnt done sh*t to justify his draft position. His yard per carry is sux behind an oline which really isnt that bad. Like I said before, Norv and Chud are not trading a difference maker if they thought he was an all pro. They dont believe in him and those guys know great RB.

If I had a 2nd favorite, or AFC team ... it would be the lovable loser Cleveland Browns. New owner, new GM, new HC, new DC, new OC ... this team is moving in the right direction. They obviously feel they're getting more value in recouping a first for the future then to winning today with Richardson. They could probably find a RB on a Shanny practice squad good for 75 yards a game before this season is over.
I'm surprised the consensus is that they've thrown the towel in on Weeden.
I would have liked to seen them ride Richardson another season to get the most out of him ... but I guess thats the gamble you take and they didnt want to risk him getting hurt and not being able to recoup that first round pick.

On a lot of screens, wide receiver screens included, O-line will not pick them up because they are coached to not pick them up. Clay lined up wide and went straight up field. TW wouldnt have gotten him cut in time anyways based on the angle that CM took. Its a WR screen, they are coached to hit the second level as quick as possible. You are also talking about Clay Mathews. A guy that goes around a lot of LT's anyways, run or pass. Its not as easy as you make it out to be. You have to catch him before you can block him. But according to you, the average person sitting at home watching on Sunday can do that.On that play the OL was trying to influence on the Stretch Right. TW went straight to 2nd level. CM was out wide and came in at an angle thru the passing lane. TW had to see him out there and knowing the play, with no other threat in his area, the smart thing to do would've been to at least attempt a cut. I never said it was easy....but I'm not getting paid $ 8M or so per year to play LT, getting Pro Bowl accolades from 2012, and getting blindly defended by many fans who "understand what's going on in the trenches" (not a reference to anything you said).
