Well under Gibbs we had big slow OL who blocked man to man and created holes. Shanahan has always like smaller faster OL for his zone blocking. But that also requires the QB to be a little mobile, moving him around the pocket or roll outs.
smaller OL are going to get owned all day blocking man to man trying to create a pocket for RG3 whom is either afraid to run or is being told not to run.
The scheme's been completely changed. Or at least we seem like we're in between schemes. We're not doing anything that we did last year.
Team has no identity whatsoever. Before last year, we were the run first/pound the rock team. Last year we were the read option team. This year we're... ???
Now's not the time to figure out who we are. I thought we were supposed to work out that kind of stuff during pre-season?

2 year deals for average players. I didnt like Meriweather, but better than we had and didnt have any injury history like he has now. Morgan didnt have a horrible year last year, and at the time again better than we had. These arent Archeleta and Bradon Lloyd/Randal El deals. Both over paid vs their production sure but not grossly.
The Morgan signing was completely 100% useless.

Heres the thing though: those guys are the biggest cap hits. It has nothing to do with cap space, those are the veterans who we've chosen to lead this team. If we had not chosen those vets, we would instead have available cap space to bring in others.
Couldn't get Finnegan due to cap issues. Couldn't get any decent OL on the market due to cap issues. Having 36 mil stripped from you is huge. I don't think for a minute those guys are on the team because of that's who we chose. These guys are on the team because that's all we could afford. Polumbus is cheap. Dhall is cheap. Wilson is cheap. Fletcher is the one guy that bewilders me. I'm still stunned they brought him back at his salary KNOWING he was a huge liability on defense. It's not like they could have afford Ellerbe though, not that I even think he's worth 7 mil per season. (he's not)
Now, if you want to make the argument about Josh Morgan and his salary, that's a different story. Dude is NOT worth 6 mil per season. No way, no how.

Besides the drop yesterday, I thought Morgan has been a good player for us.. I mean, we could watch Hankerson drop every other pass?

I dont think he was bad at all last year. Not closing the book on him just yet. Looks like Hankerson is ready to over take him as the starter, which is a good thing. Unless Morgan has an unbelievable year I expect a cut or renegotiate. Not alot of risk in Morgan or Merriweather signings.

Morgan's blocking is a asset of his as well.

It is, but not at a 6 mil per season price tag.

The Skins have played two games. They are in a relatively weak division where no team is undefeated. If they must be 0-2, then they are at least fortunate enough to be only one game behind the division leaders. They could turn things around and win the division. Such things happen all the time in the NFL. Like the Redskins' great finish last season, for example.

The NFC east could end up being the worst division in football. 0-4 outside of the division thus far. Of course it's only two weeks but a 9-7 team will probably win the division again.

Meriweather seems like he is a Sean Taylor want a bee. Didn't we have another ST wat a bee. Either sit RG on the bench or take off the cuffs and brace.
