warriorzpath 09-10-2013, 04:52 PM Not this Whatever skinsguy 09-10-2013, 04:53 PM I'm not worried about a thing. I expect to see alot more of the second half type of play than the first this season. We had a couple of turnovers and things went south. But this team isn't made up of quitters. We came back from a big hole and almost won the damn thing. Robert and the rest of the team are only gonna get better. We get Keenan Robinson back next year and I think he's gonna be a hell of a player. Once people are able to take a step back and think clearly about the game last night, I think they'll see that the 'skins aren't in such bad shape. RGIII came around in the second half, Morris won't be fumbling like he did last night, and the defense will continue to improve. I would much rather see this team have a bad season opener rather than to end the season on a bad note. And the Eagles are going to run out of gas. There is no way they run that offense for 16 full games. They couldn't even run it for longer than a half. 53Fan 09-10-2013, 04:58 PM ^ Completely agree skinsguy. NYCskinfan82 09-10-2013, 05:03 PM The Sun is still shining. All is well friends, we will be fine. One bad game, doesn't define this season Well said. skinsfaninok 09-10-2013, 05:12 PM Once people are able to take a step back and think clearly about the game last night, I think they'll see that the 'skins aren't in such bad shape. I started calming down in the 4th when I realized the same thing, Griffin is too good to be on a losing team period. The guy carried Baylor and now look at that program. I bet we still win 9-10 games and Philly only wins 8 max Bucket 09-10-2013, 05:13 PM I do agree that the EAGLES will not be able to run that offense all year. They ended the game with 76 plays run, and we had 70. So it wasn't like they were running over 90 plays. I don't think they will ever be able to run 90 plays.. THe NFL is not college... You can't keep running fast plays like that for a whole game, and not expect to give the other team a chance to catch up. You have to run the clock, and what hurt Philly last night was they ran out of gas, and almost didn't cross the finish line.. If we could of at least put up another score or two in the first half.. I feel like we would of blown them out because their offense looked so worn down, and tired. I saw McCoy getting treatment for cramps, and he was puking. I saw Vick limping around and barely able to run out of the pocket. If they honestly believe they are going to be running 90 plays a game, then they will be out of players to play with by week 12. The Goat 09-10-2013, 05:42 PM In 2007 the Giants looked awful in weeks one and two. They proceeded to win the Super Bowl. We have problems but it is just one game. I like this kind of optimism. It's not Kool-Aid talk about having the best offense/team ever yada yada. But given a certain talent level, a team can pull together and do amazing things. It's debatable whether we have the talent. The offensive line is really questionable at this point. Monty got embarrassed early and often last night, as did the right side. And Moss is still our best WR, but that's not good enough so RG has to be able to find the hot hand each and every game, much like Drew Brees has perfected in NO. Some games it will be Garcon, but people need to learn he's never been a consistent producer and at this point there's really no reason to expect otherwise. And defensively we've got some talent issues at safety. But yeah, over the course of the season we could pull together and make a run. It's gotta start in Green Bay though. Monkeydad 09-10-2013, 05:42 PM I just love how people think we can just show up and beat Detroit. Same thing people said about last night too. Did anyone happen to catch Oakland? They very easily could have beaten Indy at Indy. One game at a time people. Crazy talk. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/article/media_slots/photos/001/051/250/ku-xlarge_original.gif?1378744534 GTripp0012 09-10-2013, 06:04 PM Oakland and Detroit are clearly not pushovers. We're better than both, but we're also a good deal better than Philadelphia, and well, that worked out wonderful. If we can't get it together against Green Bay, it's hard for me to see a start better than 1-3. If we fix the main issues from last nights game, there is no reason we can't rip off three straight and look really good going into the bye. Thinking goes like this: if the Redskins can correct these issues on a short week, then it's okay to write Monday Night off as a poor effort, and move on from it. If the issues are compounded against a good team, then getting blown out at home by a bad team is a pretty good indicator that the team isn't good. sevier2 09-10-2013, 06:07 PM I think it all came down to penalties and not capitalizing when we needed to. Get a turn over here and there and don't come up with as many points as we should have. RGIII COULD have been rusty, but hell if completing 30 passes for over 300 yards and 2 TD's is rusty we have a LOT to look forward to. |
