the skins may have got a deal done the ex-buffalo bills saftey Pierson Prioleau. which i think is a good "starting caliber" saftey for almost any team. and he was released because of not restructuring his deal as well as courtney. this is excellent news IMO, but didnt see anyone say anthing about it. much bigger upgrade than franz, lott and dennis. and now that franz is gone, he could easily slide in.

Former Cleveland Browns defensive end Courtney Brown, the 2000 draft's No. 1 overall pick, is considering Washington as one of his two top suitors, while former Buffalo Bills safety Pierson Prioleau already may have reached an agreement in principle to join the Redskins.

Thanks for threading that. I put it in another post when I heard it around 9 this morning. How do you start a new thread?

I wonder why we are trying to sign another safety. I wonder if there are questions about Lott and Bowen's recovery. I thought we were fairly deep at safety and with Franz leaving maybe we would pick up one late in the draft but not go after someone who could start in free agency.

Prioleau played for Williams for a few years.

if you dont know coach williams, he absolutely loves the saftey position. why do you think when with the bills, he went after lawyer milloy while having ... reese, prioleau and wire. those are four starting caliber safties. he thinks that position should be heavily talented. and with his rep as a d coach, i cant say that i agree more

A random aside, but I saw Todd Franz's wife on some makeover show that my girlfriend was watching. It was pretty funny to see him at the end being like "Wow! She has such a glow about her!"
Anyway, the safety talk just reminded me of that.
Any news on Bowen's recovery? He was starting to look like a stud before the knee injury...

It's exciting really. Sean Taylor's talent is simply mind blowing. Once he is really schooled by Prioleau, who knows the system, our secondary will be fantastic. Looking at the stats on Prioleau. 5 11, 188. He seems to be more of a cover safety anyway.

I am still not solid on Bowen. He is good at blitzing but he is terrible in coverage. He is like a little linebacker, I think Lott is much better in coverage.

Does this mean that Coach Williams needs guys big enough to attack from any angle, and to disrupt the other teams offensive flow, rather than just tackle, ala Ryan Clark?
And, just how big is this guy, Prioleaux?
