RedskinRat 09-06-2013, 06:54 PM Should the very worst happen and our franchise QB get a season ending injury on MNF, we can still be a playoff team.
No, I did NOT just say Jehovah. Put the rocks down.
CRedskinsRule 09-06-2013, 07:11 PM Dude that was glorious. Joe I think you and I have been drinking the same koolaid. This team is a contender

CRedskinsRule 09-06-2013, 07:24 PM In all seriousness, read the quotes from the offensive players in this article: Teammates Not Worried About Griffin III (http://www.redskins.com/news-and-events/article-1/Teammates-Not-Worried-About-Griffin-III/6c732ab6-18b2-461a-b646-8540c4c63288). Everyone is encouraging supporting and leading as appropriate. I know a lot of quotes are canned/forced by the team to fit the narrative etc, but damn if Griffin doesn't sound like the leader of this team and everyone ready to pull together.
"I’ve just got to lean on my teammates," he said. "We’ve got a lot of playmakers on this team, one that is directly behind me in Alfred Morris, so those guys will be ready to play."
...
"They know it will be my first game back. I think everyone is anticipating that I’ll be rusty, but that’s not the way I think. That’s just not how I’m built to think," he said. "Those guys know I’ll lean on them and I think they are ready to make plays.
"I think everybody is ready to go out and be explosive and be dynamic."
"If you look at it, a lot of us haven't been on the field," Morris said with a shrug. "I hold Robert to a high standard. We're counting on each other.
"I know what type of player he is, his drive, and it's just going to take him a couple quarters at most before he's back in rare form."
"After spending a lot of time together [in practice] throwing the same routes, it doesn't take much time to get back on the same page. We know what we're trying to accomplish.
"It's going to take some time [to synchronize], but not as much as it would if we were brand new."

You have to love about Robert....from day 1 he has been the leader and nobody that I have heard has said....anything different. He has that rare combination of Fearless mentality, talent and desire that makes the people around him better and..."believe". This is what the Skins of the last 20 odd years have lacked (well....that and a few dozen other things). These guys.....BELIEVE they can win regardless what the time clock says.
The Skins of old thought the same thing and they did ok with it.....we'll see
HTTR and.......AMEN Joe!
artmonkforhallofamein07 09-06-2013, 08:09 PM i am not excited. I am incredibly calm. Hand-wringing naysayers can tear at their garments, gnash their teeth and cover their heads in ash as they moan their doubts.
I believe, my brother, and i am at peace with the joy faith brings. Join me.
Can i get an amen?!
amen!

SFREDSKIN 09-07-2013, 01:19 AM Great Boswell article, I couldn't agree more.
Robert Griffin III gives Redskins a legitimacy that shouldn’t be written off - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/robert-griffin-iii-gives-redskins-a-legitimacy-that-shouldnt-be-written-off/2013/09/06/65d3e67e-170b-11e3-be6e-dc6ae8a5b3a8_story.html)
artmonkforhallofamein07 09-07-2013, 01:27 AM There's too much time between now and the playoffs to be saying we're contenders already. But if we head into the playoffs completely healthy, and have a few balls bounce our way, playing in the Super Bowl is very possible. But I think you and JoeR are getting excited too early.
There may be a lot of time between now and then, but there are a few teams right now that I consider contenders for the Super Bowl. And as of now we are one of them. We all know that a lot of things need to fall in place for any SB team by the time the playoffs roll around, but I still believe we have a chance.
Not an Oak type chance but a ATL or SEA type chance to get to the game. We could be great.
