Monkeydad 09-06-2013, 10:44 AM Can the Chip Kelly's offense really run and function as quick as Denver's?
No. Vick cannot handle reading defenses and adjustments at the line like Manning. In fact, probably no one can, but Vick's intelligence level compared to Mannings is laughable.
If Kelly had Manning, look out. I think it will be a mess with Vick running it. Then soon, Foles...and Barkley.
SirLK26 09-06-2013, 11:43 AM So really only one quarterback came back full strength right away, which was Phillip Rivers. I am sure it will take some time for RG3 to feel completely comfortable with is knee.
Also Carson Palmer came back quicker than RG3, which I thought was very interesting.
Interesting. Carson Palmer tore his ACL, MCL, and dislocated a kneecap against the Steelers in the playoffs. Then, the next preseaason, he actually played in two games. That season he threw for 4,035 yards and the second most TD passes in his career, 28. Now, that's a quick recovery. Hopefully, RG3 can have similar success.

warriorzpath 09-06-2013, 01:51 PM Here's my prediction for the eagles offense- the eagles offense will be the most fast-paced offense... to 3 and out.
GoSkins! 09-06-2013, 02:12 PM Some guys let Vick, McCoy and Jackson worry them. Especially with Chip Kelly the new offensive guru pulling the strings.
Just don't forget that we have Griffin, Morris, and Garcon (that I think are better offensively) and the Shanahans... and a load of other guys on defense that clearly are better than the guys the Eagles will be fielding.
The Eagle should be scared.

Here's why I think Washington will score a ton of points against the Eagles.
Reason 1: if their offense is successful, their defense will only get a few minutes of rest. Reason 2: If their offense fails, their defense will only get a few minutes of rest. Reason 3: The way we pound the ball at defenses, they will get tired anyway.
By the 4th quarter, the Eagles defense is going to be so exhausted, we'll be running for a first down every other time we hand it off.

That was a good read. Thanks for that CRed.

In one of the interviews I remember most from when Shanahan first became coach of the Skins he was talking about his running philosophy, and why he liked the stretch plays. It was simplistic, but really opened my eyes to how he viewed the game. Basically, he said, every stretch play forces the whole defensive line to run the width of the field (assuming you go both left and right with a regular frequency. So even if at the beginning of the 1st quarter the defense is hitting the line quick and hard, by the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th quarter, those big dudes are going to have run far more than your offensive line, who won't have to chase across the whole field.
I agree, by the 4th quarter the Eagles D will be pretty exhausted.

warriorzpath 09-06-2013, 03:04 PM No matter how good and different Chip Kelly's offense is, the thing that is known on the eagles is Vick. He will have the same strengths and weaknesses he has had since going to the eagles. He has become the player that he will be. And to play into this pun- he has become an old dog. That means no matter how much Chip Kelly's offense helps him- he will still perform like Mike Vick. And how he does so goes the eagles. You focus to bring out his weaknesses and contain and take away his strengths- the Redskins will dominate the game. The thing to worry about though is- Vick has always seemed to play well against the skins. The thing to feel good about is - these redskins seem to be a strong, confident team that Vick has yet to face.
