How is this Coles fault?

No way should we resign Moss to a richer contract than what Coles was on. I would make him play on his old contract and then resign him after the season. If he has a breakout year and we can't afford him, then let him go, but at least make him earn a deal.

WR is the most overrated position in the NFL. A good WR is easy to find.

I think this shows that we desperatley need a GM. Someone like Ron Wolf would be ideal, not sure what he is doing now.

Also if this does happen i think it is a clear indication that we will not take a WR with our 1st rounder.

It makes no sense to have Moss on a huge deal and then draft a WR No9 who will also command a big deal.

I had heard earlier that the deal would take place either after June 1st or after the season had begun. Which ever way it affected our cap status this year.

Moss is a pretty good reciever and rember he was playing in Paul Hacketts system which is a vertical offense a la Norv Turner. Recievers do not flourish in this schyme anymore as Safties and corners are smarter and faster. Defensive schemes have changed to so vertical just does not work. So in actuallity Moss might fit our system better then Coles. Both are good recievers so please do not claim we got a bad deal.

So we can't pay Smoot too much because we didn't pay Springs too much.
But since we already paid Coles too much it's OK to pay Moss too much.

I don't get it.

Have the Skins, since Snyder, ever gone into a season with just a little bit of cap space? This is just unbelievable to me. Moss is NOT a First Tier receiver.....he's just not. As a free agent he'd have gotten as much interest as Burress is getting right now.

They must really see something in Moss that no one else does.

Or maybe they're trying a preemptive strike, hoping to sign him now before he has his "break out" year next year and asks for even MORE money.

im really not upset at all about this, if we are actually paying more for moss than coles. plus it only says the annual salary will be more, and nothing about the SB. lets just wait to see how it plays out, what it does to our cap space, etc. before we chase gibbs away from being team president

Seriously, let's wait and see how it plays out.

Also, by the way the off-season has gone so far. I'm impressed with how Gibbs has handled it.
