That Rams game was completely out of hand and normally would not be tolerated by officials.

Fisher was taking advantage of the replacement refs who were either intimidated by his hot head or were just told be to conservative with the whistles. I was pretty angry with the things the refs let Fisher and his dirty players like Finnegan got away with. There were countless fights from the first play and cheap shots being thrown at us every chance they got.

That's not a gameplan we'll see working again. Those refs were never in control.

I still do not blame Morgan for losing his cool and throwing that ball that lost us the game. He was taking cheap shots all day without them being called. A man can only take so much. Even Griffin was visibly frustrated.

I agree that game was bull. like a true screwjob.

I didn't look this up or know how too but didn't RGIII play very limited pre-season football last year. I think he was held out in game 4 even. That was his rookie season and he looked pretty damn good on the road in NO. I would THINK opening in WAS against PHI should be a easier task for him.

I remember the same, mostly because it was frustrating not to see our franchise QB a lot until week 1.

...RG will be fine as long as he can fully plant when he throws and every indication is that he can.

John Clayton's rating the QB's. I really expected more of him.

See, RGII is not a "running" QB like Vick (or P.White). He is a QB that runs (like Elway or Young) - it is almost like Griffin is punished for having an extra dimension to his game.

I get the injury concerns, everyone outside of DC is harping on them and going with skin deep analysis on it (He runs, he has been injured, he will always be injured). At the same time, look at his passing game - his YPA (one of the most telling passing stats there is) and is TD/INT ratio.

Christ, either we are way off on our understanding of this team and its players or we are going to shock the hell out of the talking heads this year.

Me. I am going with Shock And Awe.

Dare I say it but he is labeled that because of his skin color. It is sad that he is not compared to those you mentioned as he rightfully should be, but he is compared to those who came before him that were of his skin color. Rarely do you ever hear of him being compared to a guy like Rodgers (a guy who CAN RUN and PASS). That is who he is in the same league with. Look at his pure passing numbers and they are off the charts and compare to guys like Manning, Rodgers, and Brady. Not Vick, Newton, and Kap.

One day I hope the media realizes this and starts comparing him to every QB not just the guys who share his skin color.

Screw the talking heads they will be eating crow when next years rankings come out and they have to rank this guy up with the best and above all of the other rookies and second year guys they ranked ahead of him this year.

"Shock and Awe" will cometh week one when he gets re-unleashed on the league and we get to move on from the knee talk and back to how great he is in the NFL.

Well he's on the upcoming cover of SI being compared to Elway. ^

Or...because he ran more than any rookie QB in the history of the game. They need to back off RG running, it's that simple. My gut says they've figured it out.

That's great!!! I hope you guys didn't think I was off base though. Just my own personal observation when I see guys trying to compare him to other guys.

The only part I disagreed with was when you compared him to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is a slightly better passer, but in terms of atleticism, RG3 is miles ahead. Sure, Rodgers can run, but he's not in the same class as RG3. A 4.41 40 yard time, 76 yard TD run, and 600 yards rushing are things Rodgers could never accomplish. RG3 was recruited to play safety at Texas, participated at the Olympic trials, and dunked in the 8th grade, when he was 5'6". RG3 has a 39" verical; Rodgers' is 34". What more can be said?

Yeah I agree comparing him to the likes of Vick is just lazy. He's light years ahead of where Vick was as a passer coming out of college.

The most accurate comparison for RGIII is Young. There seems to be an unspoken rule in and around the NFL that black players can only be compared to black players and white to white. It's silly but it's what happens.

I actually think the game that is most revealing of potentially how to stop the read option was not the Rams game, which was full of cheap shots that most officiating will prevent or punish, but rather the Bengals game. I thought there was a bunch of legal hits to RGIII in that game, that they decided that they'd hit him if given the chance, and that it wore down on us a bit over the course of the game (which we lost).
