And he's improved his blocking on offense too.
I know it's an amazing concept, giving a player time to develop.
If some people had their way here players would never get that chance.
Impressively so. Paul is a much better blocker than he was at this time last year.

anyone know the plans of replacing crawford in the return game? i see where cribbs got cut. i just cant stand the idea of paul being the number one return guy. really have no idea how he is still around?
Apparently people are saying Cribbs isn't the same since his knee injury, so I dunno about that. I guess if Thompson puts the ball on the ground too much we can always get Randle El to take a break from sideline reporting and field some punts... :silly:

Another thing about Niles people don't think about; he's basically a buffed up WR. He also returned kicks (and punts ) at Nebraska. He can fill in if need be at PR should Thompson continue to suffer from fumblelitis.
Back to Niles, it'll be real fun this year watching him line up all over the field and when we use 3 and even 4 TE sets, finding ways to get him Davis and Reed the ball.

Somewhere, Leonard Hankerson is emphatically nodding his head. Amazing that some people actually think he'll get cut. Like, they actually believe that!
I hope Royster gets cut. The Redskins need to quit wasting time with that guy. He's been given enough time to develop, and he's still not very good.

Royster is an average player who is fine as back-up RB. He's just nothing special. He gets the yards blocked, rarely more (or if he does get more, just not many more). He isn't a change of pace back, not a great receiver and does okay blocking. He really is a poor man's Morris. But so is K. Williams and Williams plays teams. Neither is a replacement for Helu as the "change of pace back", but it seems that Williams is the better receiver and Royster the (ever-so-slightly) better blocker (though neither particularly good).
Either Williams or Royster stays as the Morris back-up (to be replaced by Jamison next year). Thompson makes it as the Helu back-up and PR/KR.
I am betting on Williams.
Sorry SS, Royster is the Chase Daniels of RB's.

Say another bad word about Chase and I'll ban you and speak ill of you to anyone thinking of adding you to their fantasy league

whoa whoa whoa!!
I said nothing bad about Chase. He just got caught in a numbers game. I think he and Royster are solid NFL players. Hell, I think Chase would give KC a more explosive offense than Smith.
Royster can play in this league and be an average starting RB - nothing special but moves the chains. Unlike Chase, however, lots of guys can play RB in this league. Not so at the QB position.

How many do they need to cut? I guess its 15, but the Crawford injury makes it 14, I guess.

Paul is 3rd or 4th string TE, depending how Reed develops. Outside of 3 and 4 TE sets he should never see the field while we're on offense. But his teams play should keep him on the roster, especially with Zo gone this year.
And it's a good situation for him. Can't see another team trying to develop him on offense, he'd be teams only and probably even more on the bubble.
