Matty's poll on who the Redskins will miss the most got me thinking about which player would miss the Redskins the most. Will Smoot and Pierce miss Gregg Williams and his system? Will Coles be happy with even fewer balls thrown his way? What do you guys think?
(If someone could make a poll, that would be great. I don't know how.)

Gotta be Pierce... Smoot showed he could play before Williams. Pierec uses intelligence moreso than skill. There is always the chance he could be misused in more of a skill dependent way in Giants land. Plus I think the Giants have somewhat less talent on the defensive side of the ball. Our secondary certainly was better than theirs is going to be.

Put me down for Pierce as well. I like what I saw last year, but let's face it, Williams' scheme made everybody look good on our D. I think Smoot is the real deal and will be fine. Coles is going to be unhappy wherever he is because, well, he's Laverneous Coles and that's what he does. It'll be interesting to see what Pierce can do on his own in NY though.

Pierce is a system player. Smoot is for real and so is Coles. Pierce will only have 100 tackles next year because he is going to be on a D that is on the field alot.

The one thing to think about with Smoot is the turf he'll be playing half his games on, It's easier and faster for WR's. However, he will have to face a decling Farve, Garcia/Harrington & whoever is the Bears QB this season, so that will work in his favor.

I agree with the other replys.

I still miss Art Monk, Gary Clark, and Ricky Sanders!
I think all three will fit in just fine with their new teams.
I don't buy this talk that Pierce is a system player. He picked up a complicated system last year and ran it like he had played in it his entire career. He guided the system, not the other way around. He's got the smarts and the skills to fit in anywhere.
The Vikes D should be improved but if they're not and they're involved in weekly shoot-outs, Smoot could miss Washington a bit, especially playing half his games on a fast track in Minnesota.
Coles and Pennington had a connection before he left so they should be able to rekindle that.

Good for everyone. It's working out for each team, including us. If it wasn't for the cap hit, I'd say I was fairly happy when you take out the intangibles of how each respective player got to their destinations.

I don't think they'll miss Coles because the offense sucked anyway. I guess it depends on what your opinion of the team is. I think the D will most Smoot and Pierce, however, I think the team will be better, so we won't miss anyone. I don't remember our actual record last year, (kinda sad) but if we're better, how will we miss them at all?
