Maybe it was one analyst's opinion of what Shanahan should do, but all the Skins sources seem to be in agreement that Griffin is starting week 1, barring some unforeseen setback. DynamiteRave 08-25-2013, 10:53 PM Looked it up too. I can't find anything about it. mredskins 08-25-2013, 10:54 PM I hate questioning someone's mom, but that's nowhere on their site, and I haven't heard it when I've watched. It was on Sports center I saw it. They basically said there was a chance he could be the Skins week one starter. artmonkforhallofamein07 08-25-2013, 11:08 PM It was on Sports center I saw it. So they can speculate but I would be shocked if one or both are not ready to go. CRedskinsRule 08-25-2013, 11:11 PM It was on Sports center I saw it. They basically said there was a chance he could be the Skins week one starter. Gotcha. Hopefully the Jets and Ryan have given them enough fodder, that they will let go of that storyline. Of course the show about Griffin's rehab airs this week so I imagine they will keep it alive for that. Meks 08-26-2013, 12:49 AM Yea, its just getting old, all the speculating ... how confident would all of you feel that we can beat the eagles with Rex at the helm... I'd go 68% FRPLG 08-26-2013, 01:32 AM Yea, its just getting old, all the speculating ... how confident would all of you feel that we can beat the eagles with Rex at the helm... I'd go 68% If their defense really is as bad as it seems...90+% That remains to be seen though. skinsfan69 08-26-2013, 11:15 AM Hall's stats last year were flat bad, but given how bad the free safety play was I wanna give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he'll have a great season. I've always believed he had the talent and skill to be a consistently solid corner, but lacked discipline and maybe heart. Anyway, he's def a starting corner for us and hopefully Wilson rebounds from injury and Amerson gets up to speed. The secondary will probably be the difference between a good and great season IMO, either way. I think our D is going to struggle with teams passing on us. However, as long as we can get some turnovers/sacks/forced fumbles ...and get the ball back to our offense then that's going to be enough. We might see a lot of 35-28 type games. JoeRedskin 08-26-2013, 11:39 AM I think our D will be fine on obvious passing downs b/c of the plethora of pass rushers we can bring. I feel pretty confident that we can really get pressure with just the front four creatively used in those situations -> Rak, Kerrigan, Tapp, Jenkins, Jackson, Bowen and Cofield create a lot of options for rushing the QB while dropping into coverage. Our base defense, however, may have problems stopping short and intermediate routes. Isolating Fletcher and the CB's in that short flats and middle would be my goal as an O-Coordinator - grab 4-5 yards there on first or second down to keep the 3rd Down package off the field. For teams incapable of staying out of obvious passing downs, we could have a fearsome defense. |
