Not only that, we don't need showboats trying to get their payday a year after we sign them. We are looking for core players, not one hit wonders.
Plax, Brown, and the draft, oh the possibilitiesTheMalcolmConnection 03-13-2005, 10:18 PM Not only that, we don't need showboats trying to get their payday a year after we sign them. We are looking for core players, not one hit wonders. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 03-13-2005, 11:13 PM http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A32265-2005Mar13.html Look's like we're eyeing Brown. MTK 03-13-2005, 11:21 PM Brown is a gamble with a huge payoff potential, the flipside is someone to keep the IR list occupied. TheMalcolmConnection 03-13-2005, 11:23 PM You think we can get him for a decent price?? mooby 03-13-2005, 11:27 PM noooooooo. i just read that washington post article. why, why, why? this is a boneheaded move if the skins actually did this. thank heaven we selected arrington, and they selected brown. if we were to sign him, i would suggest a low salary contract, something near the minimum, with performance based incentives. say, if he didn't get hurt and had a breakout season, then we would pay him more. until then, let him waste away in free agency. MTK 03-13-2005, 11:31 PM If he comes cheap he's a worthwhile gamble. There's no way he's going to get much of a contract from anyone, so I wouldn't worry about breaking the bank on him. mooby 03-13-2005, 11:37 PM yeah i hope your right matt, and i hope he lowers his asking price to the minimum because he has never proved that he's worth the contract he got from the browns. That Guy 03-13-2005, 11:57 PM browns are offering 2mill for one year... so we'd have to match that... greg williams has the same agent though, and we've got a much better defense to showcase him in... Dirtbag 03-14-2005, 02:47 AM Courtney Brown is ALWAYS hurt, plus he sucks. Don't be fooled. Same with Plaxico: he's got a terrible attitude, and is a locker room cancer. I hope we just keep a low profile, draft some good young players, and let Gibbs and Williams do their motivational magic on young, hardworking, unproven players who want to win. offiss 03-14-2005, 03:02 AM I could see him excepting a 1 year deal from us to showcase his talents under William's to try and earn a big contract the following season, the problem is this guy I do not believe has been unlucky with injuries, he's injury prone, the difference is his body just can't stand up to the rigor's of the NFL, but for a minimum contract filled with incentives he would be worth a look. |
