Matty I was just typing this thread opening up and thats why it always pays to check to see if something posted before you submit.

Anyways, Wilson is a surprise, but giving the young guys to get some pt in his spot is a plus imo.

Im gonna be down there next week afterwork for a practice and probably again the following week for afternoon practice as well.

Who's going? And what are you seeing, who's struggling and playing well? Give me a review of the Richmond site.

How do we get to the day before training camp to decide he needs additional surgery? Have they just been holding out hope or did he do something cause additional damage?

none of the articles give an indication of when each player's expected return is.

carriker being out indefinitely doesnt sound good. a 3rd surgery to repair a torn tendon doesnt sound good. i wonder how much tendon he actually has left to try and re-attach since it is apparently not holding.

i know with acl repairs the dr either takes ligament/tendon (whatever it is) from the patient's foot (hamstring?) to surgical attach in the knee or they can use a synthetic tendon/ligament material.

ive never heard of a synthetic tendon/ligament material being used for a torn bicep or labrum (wilson) but i imagine it is very similar to an acl repair.

Regarding Carriker unless he had a setback it's probably just a case of rehab wasn't working out so last resort is another surgery. They probably had a specific timeframe in place and if he wasn't meeting certain goals by x date then it's time for plan B. Believe it or not but doctors want to avoid surgery whenever possible.
