budw38 07-28-2013, 11:52 AM There's a good interactive graph in that article, and what it showed me, was the way to reduce the hits Griffin takes, is to not play the Bengals! Or the Rams , I think they hit RG111 late a number of times . Lets hope R. Helu , C. Thompson (R) and J. Reed (R) can run and make some big plays in the passing game .

50 of the 152 hits came in the first 3 games(about 17/game). Those were games a) where Griffin was just learning about Pro speed, b) the coaches probably were learning what a target he would be, and c) had the replacement refs - and some teams like the Rams - were clearly playing with less than clean intentions.
Over the last 13 games(about 8 per game), all three of those issues seemed to be handled better. And I would expect this year, with a season under everyone's belt, both Griffin and the coaches will be more prepared for how to handle what hits he inevitably takes.
Green Monk Machine 07-28-2013, 12:17 PM I've heard from others that have attended TC that Skye Dawson sounds like the next preseason star who will fight to make the roster.
Yeah Dawson is ok. I hoped Lance Lewis would be a preseason star for us. I like how he fights for the ball in the air.
HailGreen28 07-28-2013, 12:46 PM Robert Griffin III took 152 hits in 2012. Here’s how that number can be reduced. - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/robert-griffin-iii-took-152-hits-in-2012-heres-how-that-number-can-be-reduced/2013/07/27/fdb66a3a-f577-11e2-a2f1-a7acf9bd5d3a_story.html)I wonder if those teams that are credited with no "scramble" hits just couldn't get to Griffin when he took off, until he slid or ran OB; or if they contained him effectively. The Giants seemed like the former, the Steelers the latter.
Ah I didn't pay attention to the number until now. Although Davis and Williams shouldn't really be in the list, it was just marijuana (not big deal IMO). Still, the number is high.
As punt returner, yes but I don't think he played great as CB. He did make few plays and bad plays came with it as well. If Minnifield doesn't have any problem with his knee through out the training camp, Crawford is gone unless Shanny is willing to keep Crawford as special team specialist like Banks.
unless it deprives your talent starved team of your services.....

He got absolutely destroyed in the Cincinnati game. They popped him every chance they could.

You are right, I worded it wrong way. I guess I should have said this, Williams and Davis got suspended for marijuana, not PED thus they should not be included in the list since the title is "Redskins move into tie for PED suspension lead". Whichever reasons players get suspended for, is always big deal. I just don't believe that using marijuana should merit suspension but that is different story and it is not right kind of discussion in this thread.

Well said . Throwing to our backs more and to TE's Davis and Reed should help keep Def's honest .
who is number 16 in training camp, running good routes.
Skinzman 07-28-2013, 09:22 PM who is number 16 in training camp, running good routes.
Skye Dawson, one of the UDFA's we signed after the draft. Heard good things about him, but will probably land on the practice squad if anything. If he makes the team, it will most likely be because he is a good KO/punt returner.
