scowan 08-21-2013, 11:08 AM Bears rookie linebacker Bostic fined $21,000 for hit - chicagotribune.com (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/chi-bears-jon-bostic-fine-20130821,0,7640202.story)
This is a joke. 21,000 for a player who wrapped up, and tried to lead with his shoulder. The other hits they fine for I'm OK with, but to fine a player who wrapped up and made a tackle on a receiver who obviously was not "defenseless" and turned up field is a joke.
If I were a smallish corner in the NFL, I would not know how to tackle. I mean if you are a big strong LB, you can go in heads up wrap and overpower a guy and drop him, but a small Corner has to go low and take out a guys legs to bring him down. If you go high, you will get over powered and/or get a helmet to helmet hit, which equals a fine. Not to mention the whole thing happens so fast its like trying to plan on which part of a car you want to hit in a car wreck going 60 miles per hour. I mean seriously, if Arian Peterson or Steven Jackson was coming at you, how would you attempt to tackle him?

Ask them politely to lie down on the turf?

so quick. looks like hits with the crown of the helmet, but hard to see that as a dirty hit.

12thMan 08-21-2013, 01:08 PM Hey, this may have been covered in previous posts, but..do you guys think Adam Carriker makes it back this year or will be on the roster next season? Seems he can't shake the injury bug. Great Redskin though.
skinsfaninok 08-21-2013, 01:13 PM Jaws just said kaep could be the best qb ever.... Smh
GTripp0012 08-21-2013, 01:15 PM I just don't buy Vick in any offense that is based on quick/correct decision making by the QB. He has never demonstrated an aptitude for it and, while looking good in preseason is fine, I trust Vick to return to his time-worn habits when the defensive scheming starts. If he can't create the offense, he won't be able to run the offense.I'm with you here. I think this is a pretty serious indictment of where Foles is in his development, because there's no upside whatsoever to the Eagles going with Vick at QB.
The speed of Kelly's offense should cover up a lot of Vick's past mistakes, but it would have done the same for any QB, and you'd have to think that if Foles could have gotten the most out of their stars (McCoy, Jackson, Celek), he'd be in there.
Philly's defense is an absolute disaster, and it's struggles are about to be compounded by how quickly their offense gets up and down the field.

Interesting. I've always liked Mark Brunell. Probably one of my 10 favorite quarterbacks of all time. Brunell in Washington was pretty much a failure, but he was really good in Jacksonville.

I think its less about Foles and his development and more that Kelly's offense is a bad fit for Foles. Kelly wants to do some read option imo, and Foles is not suited for that at all.

Not really, he took us to the playoffs and played really well that year, age just got to him
