So you've also got Paul and Doughty gone if I'm reading this right?

Yes, Paul is I think a fairly easy cut after last season, and Doughty may stay and take Jordan Bernstine off.

Dude. With all due respect. Shut up.

um, no? Rather than tell me to shut up, why not just give your reasons for him staying. It's 4 weeks till training camp, and we can have civil discussion about players, at least I would hope so.

I will admit, there wasn't much in the way of sparking debate, but tell me what Hankerson has done that he deserves a guaranteed spot

Hankerson
last 2 years played, 51 catches, 13.8 yards per catch, 3TDs

Stallworth
last 2 years played, 60 catches, 17.2 yards per catch, 7TDs

I would rather keep Hankerson, but at this point I think he has to earn his spot, not just assume he gets it.

This is his first full offseason of work. In his rookie year we had the lockout and in his 2nd year he was coming back from the hip injury.

He's only going into year 3 and he showed progress last year. I just think it's premature to put him on the bubble. Plus he's looked good so far in mini camp.

Fair enough, and the way Shanallen has played it has been to bring in vets to push the younger players, but usually youth wins out. I wouldn't be shocked if Hankerson stays, but I would be surprised if we kept 6 WR's, and if we do, what position group loses one spot?

Way to stir up the conversation CRed!

I'm not sure that we keep 5 OLB's. Subtract Jenkins. We keep Paul at TE / KR instead.

At WR I would subtract Stallworth (IMO camp body) and add Hanky.

Although I am a fan of Gomes, realistically I don't think he beats out Doughty.

Thank you sir.

It's actually a great thing to have nearly the entire 53, return and be together for a 2nd straight year. When the biggest question marks are depth players, I think that says a lot about the roster that has been built. It also makes a much less debatable topic :(

I think Hankerson just barely makes the roster. If he doesn't it will be because of a fellow young talent in Briscoe, not a veteran like Stallworth

I think Jamison starts on the practice squad. It wouldn't surprise me if Helu doesn't make the roster

I think Pugh makes the roster. Gomes doesn't

And so you don't have Carriker making it either then?

The Redskins won't keep 5 RBs. One of your rookies will not make the 53 man roster. Maybe a practice squad spot, but 6 WRs will be kept before 5 RBs will be kept. I mean really all you need is Alfred Morris, Young and your 3rd down/change of pace back. Whither that's Helu or another guy will be determined in August.

I went off the belief Carriker will start on PUP, he would be active after the 6 weeks.

Good point on Jamison.

I really liked what I saw and heard of Bernstein and Pugh. On the other hand, the welcome has worn out for Paul. He's the one guy that has had more than a fair (and healthy) chance to prove his worth but continues to drop the ball. If only he could become a reliable return guy because he's solid covering punts and kicks.
