Totally agree, but Obama ran on a 'Change' platform. He deserves extra derision for all the non-change.
Exactly. Obama ran on the premise that he was going to get rid of all the programs and legislation that ignored the Constitution, while praising whistleblowers for keeping the government honest. Not only did he break his promise, he actually expanded the crap. Gave himself the ability to decide who should live/die with a kill list. Killed US citizens without due process. Gone relentlessly after whistleblowers...and on and on.

Obama Promise To 'Protect Whistleblowers' Just Disappeared From Change.gov | Techdirt (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20130726/01200123954/obama-promise-to-protect-whistleblowers-just-disappeared-changegov.shtml?_format=full)
Obama is such a huge piece of shit.
The folks from the Sunlight Foundation have noticed that the Change.gov website, which was set up by the Obama transition team after the election in 2008 has suddenly been scrubbed of all of its original content. They noted that the front page had pointed to the White House website for a while, but you could still access a variety of old material and agendas. They were wondering why the administration would suddenly pull all that interesting archival information... and hit upon a clue. A little bit from the "ethics agenda":

So much for "oversight" with the FISA courts. We'll just select a bunch of guys who favor our way of doing things.

:laughing2
So let me get this straight. The guy who flat out lied to Congress about NSA spying and recording data of US citizens is the guy who's in charge of setting up this "independent" review group. Wow. At this point, you can't even be mad at the corrupt politicians, you have to blame the people of the US. How else can you explain our government doing shit like this. Why? Because they know the voter base doesn't give a shit as long as they get their reality TV and hot pockets. They don't even try to bullshit the public anymore.
Destined to be a failure? Noooo...you don't say.

Edward Snowden: After 9/11, many of the most important news outlets in America abdicated their role as a check to power — the journalistic responsibility to challenge the excesses of government — for fear of being seen as unpatriotic and punished in the market during a period of heightened nationalism. From a business perspective, this was the obvious strategy, but what benefited the institutions ended up costing the public dearly. The major outlets are still only beginning to recover from this cold period.
Laura and Glenn are among the few who reported fearlessly on controversial topics throughout this period, even in the face of withering personal criticism, and resulted in Laura specifically becoming targeted by the very programs involved in the recent disclosures. She had demonstrated the courage, personal experience and skill needed to handle what is probably the most dangerous assignment any journalist can be given — reporting on the secret misdeeds of the most powerful government in the world — making her an obvious choice.

Says a lot about our government. This has NEVER been about terrorism, it's about fighting to keep their power and eliminate anybody who's seen as a threat.
