I suppose we will. I remember reading good things about Lewis and Dawson.

I think Dawson takes 2 PR back in the pre-season and makes the team that way.

is Niles Paul still kind of TE, or is he back playing WR?

Anything could happen on this unit.
IMO Polumbus short of having some kind of breakdown will make the team. His size, age and (now) experience make him the 'starter', but that is not written in stone. Word is he has worked hard this offseason and there is some hope of improvement on his pass blocking. But that is subject to verification in a game.

OT Xavier Nixon kind of intrigues me a little. Let our excellent O-line Coach's work with him and let him learn the Shanahan's system. This a big strong kid, he might have some up side.?.?

LB Brandon Jenkins is another guy I look forward to see play. He was a Round 5, pick 29, overall 162 bargain because he was injured most of 2012. He could have gone back to FSU but opted for draft instead. It benefited us because this guy when healthy is a productive athlete that could displace some one on this roster. It will be great to watch.

I'm not sure of Hurt as a 'lock'. He's been the primary backup but he obviously hadn't locked it down (no pun intended) so much that they didn't bring in two veterans in Pashos and Trueblood to compete. If anyone is a lock it's Polumbus.. He got a two year deal and is the returning starter. Hurt, Pashos and Trueblood may be battling for that one spot.

I'd agree with that, flexibility gives him an edge.

Good point.. How much Gettis has improved could factor into that as well. I won't be surprised if Hurt makes the 53 just unsure if it's a 100% lock.
