I could see that happening someday.

So MS loves Robinson? Interesting. I guess he is the 5th WR spot is his to lose.

At the same time, I thought I remember you (Smootsmack) indicating that Hankerson may not be as secure as some here believe. Do you see the potential for him being cut in favor of Henderson or Stallworth?

Right now we have:

88 Garçon, Pierre (5)
15 Morgan, Joshua (5)
89 Moss, Santana (12)
85 Hankerson, Leonard (2)
11 Robinson, Aldrick (1)
14 Stallworth, Donté (11)
19 Briscoe, Dezmon (1)
00 Henderson, Devery (10)
13 Reeves, Chip (R)
16 Dawson, Skye (R)
86 Lewis, Lance (R)
13 Williams, Nick (R)

Say we keep six, I guess the question is: Is it eight guys fighting for two spots or seven guys fighting for one? Are any of the rookies likely to be anything more than PS guys (if even that)? If Hankerson is susceptable, do any of the rookies have a shot?

I think I have said this before, it is nice that, whoever we cut, the guys fighting for the spot are clearly NFL guys who could start or play significant time for other teams. Very, very different from the Jabar Gaffney year just two years ago.

I'd sacrifice a ST spot for an extra WR.

I think Hankerson makes it. Dez, Donte, and Devery battle for the last spot

How many WRs do you guys think we keep if we keep 4 TEs? I know you need backups, but how many times did the Redskins run a 4 WR set? It seems like we ran a lot of 2 WR, 2TE, 1 RB sets or took out a TE for a FB (D Young). When you run Read/Option do you need to carry 7 or 8 WRs? The TE situation last year after Davis went down was Paulson, Paul and Cooley I guess. They kept Brandon Banks a lot last year as a WR, even though he was really ST. If Crawford/Paul fulfill that roll, I think they only keep 6 WR, 4 TEs this year.

Do you think, we a very strong showing in camp at both the position and on ST, one of the rookies could make the final 53? Or do you think MS/KS prefer to have a vet in that last spot as a "just in case" measure?

I am thinking that the 6th WR spot is a vet/game-day inactive spot in case we come up short due to injuries.

I don't know that any of them will stand out enough, but we'll see I suppose

As for Gettis and the O-Line, here is what we have:

Williams, Trent - T (4)
Lichtensteiger, Kory - G/C (5)
Montgomery, Will - C/G (8)
Chester, Chris - G (8)
LeRibeus, Josh - G/C (2)
Hurt, Maurice - G/T (2)
Locks.

Gettis, Adam - G (2)
Compton, Tom - T (2)

Polumbus, Tyler - T (5)
Nixon, Xavier - T (R)
Pashos, Tony - T (10)
Trueblood, Jeremy - T (8)
Mathews, Kevin - C (3)
Ashworth, Jacolby - OL (R)
Stevens, Tevita - OL (R)
Wilborn, Kyle - OL (R)

I really, really don't know how this shakes out. To me, the RT is as close to "wide open" as any position on the team although Polumbus gets the tiniest of bumps for continuity sake. If all else roughly equal, Polumbus keeps his job as starter. If Pashos or Trueblood perform better, they make it. Again, and for the same reason, Polumbus might get the benefit of the doubt on a roster spot, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone entirely. I see Polumbus, Trueblood and Pashos fighting for one spot with Hurt as the primary back-up at tackle.

I have Hurt and LeRibeus as locks for the 53 but don't think either is starting.

Compton is only practicing as a left tackle and they won't play him at RT until he learns teh LT spot. To me, that says they aren't confident of his ability and see him as nothing more than a back-up. I may be wrong, but, again, I would not be surprised if he doesn't make the final 53. I think he is still PS eligible.

Gettis goes to PS and Mathews is cut. With Hurt & LeRibeus and the versatility of the interior guys, just don't see us carrying an extra "guard only" / "center only" guys. Chester has the "one OL position only" spot on the roster and will likely continue to hold it.

Nixon had good reviews for an undrafted guy but, well, he is an undrafted guy. I watched his tape - he had some good stuff and bad stuff. Seemed slow and played high, but with some strength. At times, he showed some athleticism but, mostly, seem lumbering and stiff. Not sure which is the real guy. He is PS if he is anything. Hope I am wrong though.

Doubt any of the others make the roster or PS.

I suppose we will. I remember reading good things about Lewis and Dawson.

I'm not sure of Hurt as a 'lock'. He's been the primary backup but he obviously hadn't locked it down (no pun intended) so much that they didn't bring in two veterans in Pashos and Trueblood to compete. If anyone is a lock it's Polumbus.. He got a two year deal and is the returning starter. Hurt, Pashos and Trueblood may be battling for that one spot.
