Now the team that has won three Super Bowls in four years have no Super Star WR...Right? Yet they win and win big! So why is Moss,Jacobs,McCants and Patten vs Patten,Givens,Branch and Brown that bad and will not work? Yes Moss is not proven as is Jacobs or McCants. But these guys have big up side and we need to see if they can be that go to guy or need to be moved. No one thought that the Patriots WR were going to win a Super Bowl so tell me why one or two or three of these guys are not up to being as good or better the New England WR core. Last Getting a WR in the draft dosen't mean we are now better at the spot! Wideouts in most cases take time to make the transformation from college to the pros! Yes there is some that are good first year players. In this draft is that player there? Will we get that chance to pick him? Only time will tell! So tell me why our WR are so bad that with a very good running game and a great D we also can't win a Super Bowl?

I agree about the WRs.
However the 1 difference is the guy throwing the ball. I like RAmsey, i think he can be a star in the NFL, but he ain't no Brady. If i was a GM starting from scratch the first player i would sign is Brady. The guy is just pure gold and has ice in his veins.

Good points Pete. My bigger concern is playcalling. I think the formula is there for success. Coach must take a few more shots down the field for all of these things to happen.

I think the offense will open up a bit this season because of Patten and Moss. Last year Coles and Gardner rarely got any separation and Brunell couldn't and Ramsey wouldn't chuck the ball up for grabs. This year, D's will have to respect the speed at Wr and hoepfully that along with our new C and Jansen coming back will open up the running game a bit.

No way do we need to bring in a new QB. Ramsey will be fine. Remember what Bret Favre was like the early years?
Have patience and trust Coach Gibbs to get the job done right.
Hey, AndySkinUK, you a Whites fan? I'm a West Ham fan, I share your pain.

On a Gibbs coached team, the QB does not have to be spectacular. He has to be smart. Also, the offense does not need star players. Gibbs simply demands that his players execute the plays. That means the QB has to make accurate regular throws, the WR's have to catch them, and the RB has to run downhill.
There is no place for Gardners hands in his offense. He doesn't need Coles yelling about how he needs more yards.
Guys like Thrash, Cooley, and Patten are going to find out that this offense is pefect for them.
Execute and watch the win total go up....

The two major reasons the pats can get away w/ no superstar wr's is Tom Brady and the offensive scheme that has been consistent for a number of yrs.

Brady is the #1 difference....but the O-line and the backs that block for Brady are great as well and need to be #2 reason.
Also the entire team plays smart ball. Not many penalties or blown coverages.
Patriots also have the best clutch kicker in the game.

it all about the utilization of talents and moral + character of the player. All these guys have talent they're in the NFL. They just have to be used the right way to be successful.
