Families of Catholic background, or from cultures that expect manual labor to survive, ie agrarian societies, often had many many children so that they could help support the families. It's really only modern western society that looks as more kids as more burden. My dad was one of twelve kids, his parents were both 1 of 11's. 18 is high, but it probably is much more societal value than irresponsible parenting. Unless he's related to Cromartie.

JJ was expelled from high school for bringing a gun to school and receiving stolen property. He was then kicked of the Sooners for misdemeanor gun charges. i just realized the duggar family also does this. Also with J, also with 19 kids. Maybe the families know each other or share naming conventions?

Regardless, this kid has what could be great story of over coming poor choices he made earlier in life. I'm making him my camp hero, hopeful he'll contribute.
