great chart; very informative. I'm so psyched for tomorrow though. A great player will fall to us!
Hell I was thinking we can probably trade back with San Fran since they are trying to get rid of picks and they can get a TE like Ertz or Escobar and we can get a couple of additional picks and maybe the whole Swearinger/Rambo/Mathieu crowd can all be happy!
Counter-Tre 04-26-2013, 03:14 AM Even though we did not have a pick in round one, seeing the Cowboys choke and squander their pick made it worth watching.
jdlea 04-26-2013, 07:50 AM Just an FYI, Kiper and Scouts, Inc (McShay) both did Round 2 mocks. I'm not too pleased with the way it shakes out. Since their both Insider articles, I'll post some highlights:
Neither one has Cyprien or Swearinger falling to us and Kiper even has Shamarko Thomas coming off the board before our pick. The picks?
Kiper: Kevin Minter
He can start next to London Fletcher and eventually take over for him.
I guess he forgot we have Perry Riley and Keenan Robinson. I don't see us taking an ILB this high.
Scouts, Inc: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
No explanation from Scouts, Inc.
I'm more intrigued by the Banks pick than Minter, obviously, but I feel like I'm going to be sick to my stomach should neither Swearinger or Cyprien (who is almost guaranteed to be gone) fall to us.
Another quick highlight: Scouts, Inc has the Bengals taking Tyrann Mathieu at 53. I found that interesting.

I wouldn't b shocked if we took mathieu

Neither would I, honestly, if things go the way Kiper has them, I'd probably like that pick. I like him at safety, if he can keep his head on straight. I also recognize that is probably a huge if. Hopefully, a year away made him hungry.
I was actually thinking about the Banks pick and thinking that maybe Hall could play FS part time next season should we take a CB in round 2 and not find a guy who can start at safety in round 3.
I'm just gonna put it out there. I love Baccari Rambo. I want him if he's available in round 3

a player who has yet to take the next step in production, and a player who has yet to start for us; Seeing that the Dolphins just took Dion Jordan when they already have Wake, Vernon and Oderick is a great example of why we can't assume teams won't take certain players. Just because a player isn't viewed as a need in our eye, doesn't mean they aren't a need in that teams eye.
Also supposedly we aren't high on Banks, because he's a cover 2 CB and we play man and cover 3.

Sure, they could take him, but I'm pretty sure we took Keenan Robinson to be the heir apparent to London Fletcher, so giving up on him after one year seems silly. Also, I'd say that 129 tackles from Riley is pretty solid, so saying "he has yet to take the next step in production" might be a bit of an exaggeration.
Also, the Dolphins pick was a bit of a head scratcher, much like the rest of their terrible to mediocre offseason. If we make a similar pick to that, not saying Minter is similar, I'm not going to be very happy

I would say Riley has stepped up and made plays for us.
Gtothearry 04-26-2013, 12:16 PM I still think we may go WR. Especially if Cyprien & Swearinger is gone.
CRedskinsRule 04-26-2013, 12:25 PM I remember when they made this format change a few years ago, I thought this second day would be an intriguing day, as every team can catch it's breath between the 1st and 2nd round. It would not shock me to see a lot of quick snap trades in the works if certain players fall early on. I still don't know what player I am most hoping for, but in the end, I just want our FO to be on top of things and not looking like lost puppies, or kid show hosts.
