As to Nassib, true, lots of people like him so he may not be there in the 2nd round where Buffalo picks and several folks in ahead of them in the 2nd might address QB w/ 2nd pick (Cleveland, Jax, Oakland, Arizona, Phil.).
With that said, is Nassib the BPA value at 8th for Buffalo? Seems to me most of the big talent in the 6 - 12 range is OL/DL. While that's necessary stuff, I think they could reasonably expect to get quality linemen later in the 1st and 2nd. It seems to me, the best thing for them to do (if Nassib is the target) would be to trade down to later in the round if possible. I would not be surprised to see SF jump up to grab T. Austin and then Buffalo take Nassib at 31. Heck, at 8th, with Austin being the first real "playmaker" on the board, there could be a bit of a bidding war at 8th.
I think Nassib is, at best, the 2nd QB off the board and more likely the 3rd or 4th. As long as Buff can stay in the first round, they will likely get him. Particularly if Geno is still on the board at 8.
As for Geno - I see a Jason Campbell 2.0 redux. Not sure why and I would defer to those who watch the college players more, but it is just one of feelings I get when I hear his talents described.
I don't see it. Geno has a quicker tighter release then JC and is much more mobile. I think Geno will have a better career then JC.

Greatest 3 day stretch of the year. This is basically adult Christmas for me. I haven't been as into as I have in previous years but to me this is practically a holy day. One of the few great innovations by Pope Roger Goodell I, was to not only move the draft up a day early but make it so a late riser like me doesn't have to get up "early" on Saturday and Sunday to watch the draft, opting for prime time instead. Of course Round 4 starts "early" on Saturday at 12 noon but the key rounds are in prime time.

Anyone think there's any possibility of some magic deal that gets us into Round 1?
Me neither. We wait for Friday.

Hearing Mike talk about character and a strong locker room is music to my ears.
I'm finally beginning to completely eliminate the Cerrato era.

Everything I've heard about this year says that the draft is basically loaded with 2nd and 3rd round prospects while being a little short on 1st round prospects. Many teams are going to want to trade back to capitalize on the depth.
Scouts Inc for example has broken it down like this.
1st Round Grade: 25 Players
2nd Round Grade: 38 Players
3rd Round Grade: 48 Players
111 Players
Compare this to last year
1st Round Grade: 27 Players
2nd Round Grade: 39 Players
3rd Round Grade: 35 Players
101 Players
If ever there was a year to be okay with not having a first round pick this one might be it. Regardless heres hoping that one of the three SEC safeties (Elam - UF, Reid - LSU, or Swearinger - USCar) fall to us in the 2nd. Though I would be just as happy with Shamarko Thomas - Syracuse. JJ Wilcox - Georgia Southern, would be an interesting pick seeing as how I went to school there and theres a lot to like about him but I don't feel like he's a plug and play starter. Rather a raw prospect with lots of potential.
Personally I hope they address Safety before Corner. Much bigger need and a position that I feel is more important then corner.

good post, maybe grabbing as many 3rd and 4th round picks might be a good idea

I would LOVE that draft. I just don't see it happening because those are some big names, and Shanahan goes for the LeRibeus's, Crawford's and Alfred Morris's that make you go "Who?!?"
Dream draft? Great I like it a lot. Realistic draft, you need more who types of players.
Also I see you included Josh Boyce. Watch this video, it'll make you like him more. (Yes I know it says Casey Pachall, but watch Boyce play in these highlights, its Hakeem Nicks-like.)

I would love that draft as well, and it isn't as unlikely as you would think. Just a matter of getting that second third round pick.

I'm too cheap for NFLN so I can really only watch ESPN unless I go to a friends house.
That's understandable. Since NFLN has been on I haven't watched SportsCenter.

In the grand scheme of things it means nothing to the guys pulling the trigger at the draft. No one raised or lowered TM on their draft boards because of the party sign.
I wouldn't be so sure
