Back to Directv for me.

I can't believe I wrote that sentence!

No FIOS at my new house and after shopping packages we decide on Vonage phone, Comcast Blast internet service and DTV. I can't deal with Comcast TV it is just plain horrible. FiOS is slated to be in my hood (new build Hood) in 3 to 6 months I will switch internet service then to FiOS but I got make a 2 year commitment to DTV.

I get the Ticket for free this year and the new Genie system (HR34). I am praying the signal is not a issue. I had DTV in NOVA and Columbia(MD) with zero problems but when i took it to north of B-more it was out all the time. I really think in hindsight my dish was never aligned correctly.

I will have to say menu-ing wise DTV was hands down the best. FiOS was basically Comcast with a better guide but the biggie was it worked all the time never down. Monthly with Comcast I was chasing bugs. FiOS On Demand was better then Comcast as well.

Congrats on de-Comcasting your self.

I've been with Dish Network since 2005 (from Comcast) and it has been great for the most part. I had a receiver that needed replaced but customer service in Colorado, not India, was great and since I was a long-time customer who spoke up, they really hooked me up with some extras for free.

The new Genie system sounds like the basic DVR Dish has always had. I've always been able to record multiple shows from multiple rooms at the same time with it.

Good luck. Hope DTV is as good as Dish has been for me. The best part...my bill has never gone up in 8 years unless I added something to it voluntarily. When I had cable, it was going up every few months without any additional channels.

Well I actually de-FiOS myself. Not by choice.

The Genie records 5 shows at one time. I looked at Dish but was not impressed with their channel line up; they do not have Sprout or Disney JR. Go to channels for my house. Their Hopper is pretty cool though. It basically came down to the channel line up for me.

I've been with DirecTV since 2005 now. No major complaints. Dumping Time Warner was the best thing I ever did. I really like the DTV app and being able to watch TV on my iPad.

Do you have the Genie (H34)?

I am in a listed building and can't get DTV, wish I could.

It's costing a fortune to go to a bar each gameday and watch the Redskins.

Sunday Ticket is far cheaper and considerably more convenient.

Not yet, last I checked they were only offering it for new customers. I haven't checked back into it for while.

The last time I had DTV it was like 6 years age and i couldn't get local channels so I had to have a SAT and a OTA. God it was a pain managing those too.

Yeah I definitely want it. The way my house is set up they could only hook up a dvr in the master bedroom. Sucks because we rarely watch TV there. Having a whole home system would be perfect.
