SPORTS (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/redskins-fans-buy-sorts-things-robert-griffin-iii-175838194.html) That is amazing Griffin is the man Alvin Walton 05-20-2013, 10:28 AM Dang, I didnt get him anything. CrustyRedskin 05-20-2013, 11:08 AM Heck lets but together a few bucks for a little something, heck two nationally televised cowboy a$$ kickins should be worth a punch bowl, candle holders or something. budw38 05-20-2013, 11:09 AM Errr , I heard Jessica Simpson sent him some gifts too . He did help spank the Cowboys twice last year .... 2X :) CultBrennan59 05-20-2013, 12:38 PM Its a 2 sided argument. On one end, I'm like why didn't RG3 send out a private wedding registry list that only people invited to his wedding could have gotten him? He is--to my knowledge-- the only athlete whose wedding registry was found online where fans have bought him gifts. On the other end I'm like why did fans who aren't going to his wedding buying all the gifts that people who were invited to the wedding, were supposed to be getting him? You're not going, and you've probably never met RG3 before in your lives, and your going to buy him a gift? I know a counter point to what I'm saying is that "its the fans buying him a gift thanking him for being our QB" well you could also buy a gatorade, adidas socks, RG3 jersey, or many other products to show your thanks to him (that money goes back to him) Another counter argument I've heard is that these people who were buying him gifts are rich to begin with and probably already give to charity. The thing is you, nor I truly know that. In summary, I'm annoyed that the fans went out to buy him all these gifts to a wedding they're not going to. If I'm someone who got invited to attend the wedding, I'd be pissed, because its like "Now what do I get this millionaire?". You know its the off-season when a wedding registry is big controversial news. CRedskinsRule 05-20-2013, 12:57 PM Anyone who makes this a controversy is either a) petty, or b) miserable. Griffin didn't publicize it, the couple shouldn't feel compelled to give it to charity (unless they are gonna throw some of it away), and those invited to their wedding will certainly figure out something to get them. some people just can't let others enjoy their success. Chico23231 05-20-2013, 12:58 PM you know, Im loving the hate from everyone. its great to be hatted on these days, especially RG3 because he is such a class act CultBrennan59 05-20-2013, 01:04 PM Anyone who makes this a controversy is either a) petty, or b) miserable. Is that directed towards me? CRedskinsRule 05-20-2013, 01:39 PM Is that directed towards me? It was not meant to be. Just a general statement towards anyone who feels it's wrong for the couple to receive the gifts, or the fans to buy the gifts.
