Returning the starting 22 is an accomplishment in this day and age of the NFL. When that team was also the division champ it speaks volumes. It speaks to the flat cap, the view the rest of the NFL has of our players as individuals, which in turn speaks to our coaching staff, and finally to our locker room and FO.
I would have been happy to see Hall walk at 8M this year, at 2+M he is a good value pick up. Certainly not a top tier guy, but when playing hard, and focused, he can produce at a good level.
I am amazed that other than Alexander, no other teams were willing to beat what a cash strapped Redskins organization was willing to pay players like Jackson, Davis and others. Not complaining, just looking at how mediocre players from the Ravens were sought and pursued, but our offensive talent (from a pretty potent offense) were shrugged at.
That is definitely good for us, as it means the draft can be about depth, and hidden gems, instead of gaping holes. Don't get me wrong, we definitely need secondary help, but you know that what we have will at least be competitive, and with good drafting positional battles should be competitive too.
Well said CRR, I still couldnt believe that the FO got Davis and Hall back. It maybe the case that over the years you hear people and players say that certain propects are willing to take less to play for a winner. I am not saying that we are as dominant as New England, but could the tide be turning???? We will see.
