This is a local school shooting here in Baltimore. This article really goes into to detail and there is a 1 hour long interview with the shooter.
Perry Hall school shooter left behind a chilling digital trail - baltimoresun.com (http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/baltimore-county/perry-hall/bal-perry-hall-school-shooting-story-20130313,0,3674670.htmlpage#.UUNtY1efY1I)
Since he only had access to a non-assault weapon he "only" critical injured one person before he was stopped. Had he had the guns the Newton shooter had Perry Hall would have been the next mass murder school site.
If you got the hour I suggest watching his interview. Just pure no emotion; scary amazing.

Trying to demonize AR-15s much?
He only got one victim because hes just a kid and obviously sucks at handling firearms and planned his attack very poorly.
He chose an incredibly poor spot to begin his assault.
And judging by his incompetence I doubt he would have faired any better with
an AR-15. He put his second round into the ceiling for Petes sake.
And had he drove a garbage truck at high speed (now its an assault garbage truck) into/thru the cafeteria he would have gotten a lot more too, so why pick on what you think is an assault weapon.
And its Newtown, not Newton.

Did you watch his interaction? He clearly tells the cop he kill more if he didn't need to reload.

how many 15 year olds (or whatever he is) have reliable access to assault garbage trucks and know how to drive them? ;)

Another interesting point in the interview is the shooter would prefer the death penalty. Cements even more in my mind a life sentence behind bars is far more painful for them then simply killing them.

How about the many, many other convicts appealing and negotiating to get life instead of death, like Gary Ridgway?

I'm leaning against the death penalty, lately. But to say that granting clemency to murderers is somehow "tougher" on them, is silly. In the end, it makes sense most murderers (like most people) would rather remain alive than dead, doesn't it?

Well he didnt, because hes a stupid disturbed kid.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda....
What good is reloading if you're going to shoot the ceiling?
He would have got a lot more if he would have used a Tim McVeigh styled Assault Moving Van full of ammonia and fertilizer that would have paled next to the Assault Garbage Truck.
But alas, he didnt have access to that either.
You're wildly speculating and further demonizing what you think is an assault weapon.

Semiautomatic weapons used in Aurora, Tucson, Virginia Tech, Newtown Connecticut shootings (http://www.kjrh.com/dpp/news/semiautomatic-weapons-used-in-aurora-tucson-virginia-tech-newtown-connecticut-shootings)
I still dont see your point.
Most firearms that Americans own are semiauto.
Almost all hand guns/pistols are semi auto.
So are most deer rifles and a lot of shotguns.
Thats like pointing out that all stabbing homicides were done with something pointy and sharp.
That article is extremely pedestrian and elementary.
