thats violent. How far of a shot was that you think? No clue an anti tank could do that much damage in a single shot. If I can remember, I thought T-72 were old russian tanks...

breaks my heart that bastard over there refuses to step down and rather see his country torn to shreds with 10 of thousands killed. The refugees camps forming in Jordan are causing another humanitarian crisis where thousands more might die trying to escape this non sense. hope they hang that bastard and that entire regime. the definition of senseless

part of the issue is before the alawites came to power, they were severely repressed. once they took control, they repressed (or denied opportunities to) everyone else. if they lose, their way of life (and a lot of lives) are gone. so that's why they probably aren't going to volunteer to quit any time soon. early on there was a chance for opening up and offering reforms, but it's long gone now.

once the government does lose, the power vacuum will probably be pretty bad between the islamists and secular factions, so it could be a long hard road regardless. what a waste.

as far as the AT rounds - if they didn't bust tanks, what would be the point of having/using them? shape charges do wonders to steel.

Daaaang. Is that a Syrian soldier running off with his pants blown off and his sweater over his head? I can't tell if he was inside the tank or next to it when it was hit.

i think he was the guy on the machine gun and he got blasted out by the pressure of the expanding gas and all that... which would make him a pretty lucky guy, considering.

Yeah, I think you're right. Lucky man. You can also see shots hitting the column near him as he runs off-screen to the right. I assume those are bullets from rebels, but I guess they could also just be the tank's ammunition exploding.
