It feels good not to be spending big in FA anymore, teams are built through the draft and filling holes in FA with value players at a low cost.

I completely agree. Notice how a lot of the premier teams, if not all the premier teams are not making much noise right now. Boring free agency means solid depth and growth from within and a reliance on the draft.
