Meks 03-12-2013, 12:26 PM hope the reports on moss are true. Chico23231 03-12-2013, 12:29 PM Redskins still in mix for Alexander but will face significant competition (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/03/12/redskins-still-in-mix-for-alexander-but-will-face-significant-competition/) Could be smoke, but apparently Zo has some serious interest from around the league. Paintrain 03-12-2013, 12:33 PM CSN Washington is confirming Moss: Report: Moss restructures, will stay with Redskins | CSN Washington (http://www.csnwashington.com/football-washington-redskins/talk/report-moss-restructures-will-stay-redskins) BigHairedAristocrat 03-12-2013, 12:58 PM I dont really understand "restructuring" moss. 2013 was the last year of his deal, so i dont see how you can restructure that. You can only EXTEND it with a new contract. I love Moss, but I dont understand why we'd extend a 33 year old receiver when we have good, cheap depth at the position and greater needs at other areas of the team. Apparently they converted salary to attainable incentives so he can earn all or most of it back fairly easily. No extension. BigHairedAristocrat 03-12-2013, 01:05 PM Apparently they converted salary to attainable incentives so he can earn all or most of it back fairly easily. No extension. And attainable incentives dont count against the cap... nice. I hadnt considered that as a means to fee up space. We should do this with alot more players - but then the league would probably penalize us for violating the spirit of the cap. If attained, they count against next year's cap. It's clear MS/BA don't want to push too much money forward. I think they would rather absorb as much of the hit in today's cap while still having enough to address certain needs (TE, DB & RT). Cross your fingers on our 2nd and 3rd round picks this year - I have a feeling they will be starting sooner rather than later. Watch, they'll take another QB in the 2nd round. lol GridIron26 03-12-2013, 01:26 PM Props to FO for pulling this off, I was really nervous about Moss getting cut but now I'm relieved. Now we have to focus on Lorenzo and Davis. That Guy 03-12-2013, 01:27 PM they basically just moved some money to next year. |
