Are the Redskins becoming more of a Virginia based team?

We are pretty friendly, but it's almost like you are sticking your fingers in your ears not listening.

Why does it matter if it's in MD or VA? It's not in DC anymore so does it really matter if it's within close proximity? Many of the NFL stadiums sit outside the major cities they represent.

Northern Virginia is okay. But If you're moving it all the way to Richmond or VA Beach you might as well drop it in North Carolina.

I do not see the Redskins ever moving that far south away from DC. I think it will be within the Beltway and accessible by metro, like the stadium is now.

Also, I think you guys are discussing the wrong points. The major point in all this is.........."Who's going to pay for the stadium?"

Virginia taxpayers? Maryland taxpayers?

Who's going to offer Danny boy a better deal? MD or VA? I assure you, that's the bottom line that will win out on where the stadium is placed.

Also, the main reason this is most likely being pushed now is due to the popularity of the team currently. Jerry Jones did the same thing. Made some moves to get the popularity up so he could sell his snake oil to the fans and taxpayers.

He flat out admits that to partly sell the stadium, he had to bring in Bill Parcells get the hype up. It worked.

Look at San Francisco. They've capitalized on the 49ers success the past 2 years to not only get a new stadium, but to get idiots to fork over between 2k -80k for PSLs.

San Francisco 49ers sell $670 million in seats for new stadium - San Jose Mercury News (http://www.mercurynews.com/southbayfootball/ci_21499027/san-francisco-49ers-sell-670-million-seats-new)

Would any of you drop 2-6K per seat for a one time fee just for the right to purchase tickets?....lol

Hope so. I am completely okay with it being in VA, so long as it continues to be metro accessible and continue to be Washington's team.

The thread starter tried to make it sound like they'd drop it somewhere farther south, and the team would basically be claimed by Virginia.

That I can't get with.

Such a friendly message board, thanks for the warm welcome.

Your problem is you totally suck at making entrances.

I could maybe understand if no one was coming out to games... Like when the Montreal Expos moved to DC.

While this may have been true near the end, fan support was not the reason the Expos left. There were many more sinister culprits. See the scumbag owner of the Marlins and his weasel sidekick for clues.

And damn you D-Rave for making me post in this thread! :banghead:
