Are the Redskins becoming more of a Virginia based team?

This post is too simple minded, and I hope your day job doesn't include making business decisions.

Lets not forget lower taxes in Virginia as well.

IMO the Redskins would be smart to build a new stadium in Virginia, anywhere in Virginia. They could either keep the name Washington Redskins or change the name to the Virginia Redskins. Either way they'll have a large fan base, if they changed their name to the Virginia Redskins they would gain some new fans, although they would lose some fans as well, it would all probably equal out. I seriously doubt they ever do this but regardless, the majority of their fan base resides in Virginia, the Redskins ARE Virginia's team, the Ravens are primarily Maryland's team. The Redskins are smart by keeping there training facility and headquarters in VA as well as moving their practice facility into VA. Why fight for fans in Maryland with the Ravens when you can stake claim to Virginia, which is a much larger state with more people?

I am sorry to inform you that even Hollywood is wrong sometimes. Although in the movie Gladiator, thumbs up meant let Maximus live, in real ancient Rome the thumbs up meant kill the person, thumbs down meant let them live. You have just committed messageboard suicide. Enjoy your day!

With Virginia already diehard Skins, tbat would be more reason to stay in PG. No business simply cedes market share that it has a viable stake in it, instead it will normally invest in expanding into new markets. Your contention that Virginia is already diehard, along with the fact that there really isn't another franchise likely to take Va fans away en masse means the Skins likely will try to strengthen its Maryland presence not lessen it.

Yes Virginia is for the most part die hard Skins fans, but if the Redskins moved all of their facilities out of VA entirely, that may not go over well with Virginia Redskins fans. The Redskins are smart by keeping their training facility in Ashburn and moving their practice camp to Richmond to reach out to their fans deeper south in the state. They are expanding and creating stronger ties with the entire state of Virginia which is a good business decision. As stated in my previous post, Virginia is a larger state with more people than Maryland, meaning more fans and more potential fans in Virginia as opposed to Maryland. The Ravens are in Maryland, and more and more Maryland residents are jumping ship to the Ravens bandwagon. It makes sense for the Redskins to strengthen their ties with VA residents and expand in VA, which is a more business friendly state with lower taxes than Maryland or DC and more people as well. I have a feeling the next stadium is going to be in VA! Hail. Make it happen Danny boy.

The day the Skins move to Virginia is the day I stop being a fan. I will completely go Cleveland via the Browns moving back to Baltimore. A.k.a. F-everyone.

If Virginia wants a team, get a savvy business owner look into building a stadium out there. Fans already got irritated when the Skins moved from RFK out to Maryland. Then moving from Maryland to Virginia? Um. No.

I could maybe understand if no one was coming out to games... Like when the Montreal Expos moved to DC. But you're going to take years of tradition from DC, and move it out to inaccessible (for me at least. I'm not driving 2+ hours to Richmond or 4+ to VA Beach area) Virginia?

This post makes me want to vomit all over it.

If the Redskins were to move to VA I imagine it would be a move to Northern Virginia

We are pretty friendly, but it's almost like you are sticking your fingers in your ears not listening.

Why does it matter if it's in MD or VA? It's not in DC anymore so does it really matter if it's within close proximity? Many of the NFL stadiums sit outside the major cities they represent.

Tell us how you really feel.

But, would you continue rooting for the Redskins if they built a new stadium in Northern Virginia?
