Heck of a first post. This was so critical that you had to spam the board with 10 useless one liners eh?

Where does everyone stand on this?

Pretty sure we had a talk similar to this a little while ago,...we did.

It only makes sense that the Redskins would build a new stadium in Virginia. Why compete for fans with Maryland who has the Baltimore Ravens? The Redskins should further their ties with the great state of Virginia. The most business friendly state in America, lower taxes than DC or Maryland, more people in Virginia than DC or Maryland. It's time for Virginia to stake claim to the Skins.

Why not rename them the Virginia Redskins as well?

Since when did Virgina make Kool-Aid?If you check the link the Redskins are tied into FedEx for at least 12 more years ,now what do you do with the stadium,Dan Snyder will need the revenue to build a new place ,who will buy it Ravens ..no, U-Maryland..no,Virgina as far as the Skins moving doesn't have a chance,DC would be the better spot if they could go but they can't.

Football is full of traditions, this team is and will always be the Washinton Redskins. That is never going to change.

Making the assumption that all MD people are Ravens fan is pretty idiotic IMO. The team wouldn't be stupid enough to lose a fan base in DC and MD by moving the team to VA. The team and its facilities are always going to be somewhere in the DC area, accesible to fans from all three areas.

Bullsh*t. Talk to folks in VA, especially the Richmond area, they are lukewarm towards a pro-football team. Color me not worried.

I call double bull shit. You would say that living in D.C. But with all due respect, SIR, as someone who is a native Richmonder their whole life I'd call you a wack-job for saying Richmonders are luke-warm to a football team. The problem is the city of Richmond is not large enough population-wise to sustain a major NFL franchise. That DOES NOT mean we don't want one. Richmond is an avid Redskins hub. I think it is great that the Skins are expanding into Virginia. Making events more accessible to the rest of Virginia is only going to help grow the fan base and brand.

Having called BS on 12th Man, I must also say I don't think renaming the Redskins the Virginia Redskins will ever happen. Washington born (via way of Boston), Washington bred, it'll be Washington Redskins 'til long after we're dead. Even if the new stadium is in NOVA the name won't change. They didn't change the name to the Maryland Redskins when Fed Ex Field was built in Landover, Maryland.

KERRAKPO9198 is either trolling us all, a Virginia politician, or in charge of the "plan" to bring the Redskins to VA.

and please don't make a foolish suggestion like renaming the Washington Redskins, the Virginia Redskins.

Matty, keep this one just for the lulz

Troll??

Come on, most of Mongomery County is redskins fans. I live a mile from the border(bethesda), when people ask me where I live I say DC.

If the skins wanted to move near me, I'd say no thanks. I've got enough traffic already.

Not a troll, just curious as to who would want the Redskins to build a new stadium somewhere in Virginia? All in favor say aye.

I abstain because, until the Fedex lease expires, it is a pointless question.

I think it makes sense for the redskins to be looking, because between politics, construction and miscellaneous delays, due diligence in finding solid prospective sites is reasonable. But the concept that they would abandon maryland and dc fans for anything further than a site in NoVA is not gonna gain much traction.
