I could deal with the "Warriors".

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. That and maybe going with the spear logo on the helmets.

Washington cannot have an NBA name, this is a current unwritten rule of American Sports.

Apparently back in the day the logo/mascot was of a Native American but when they decided to stop using that they switched to a Robin Hood-looking guy or a knight, which make sense for the Sherwood Warriors.

Washington:
Rebels
Pelicans (kidding, NBA name)
Nationals (first time 2 teams in the same city have the same name)
Thunder (ahh that would work too)
Warhawks
Tomahawks
Geronimos
Indians
Rangers

yeah warriors works best

Why just the NFL and NBA?

The answer really is simple, the Washington Sentinels. Life imitating the movies is always good.

If I missed it I apologize but why not "Braves" and keep the logo?

Why just the NFL and NBA?

Just an unwritten rule that I have noticed really has never been broken. I also feel that nba has more regional names then the nfl. Maybe Washington generals...
