So on Sirius XM NFL radio this morning Bill Polian was breaking down the salary cap and basically said a conservative amount of cap space GMs leave unused for rookie signings, practice squad players and IR players is $ 8.5-9 million. So does that mean we are screwed?

I think the 3,000,000 lets us maneuver for the draft and free agency. Then, once the basic shape of the roster is clear the front office will do the minimum amount of restructures needed to be safe during the regular season.

$4-5M is generally the cap space needed for all teams for the draft.
