I don't have the flu (thank God) but I also didn't get a flu shot this year. I'm 26, in good health, let the babies and the old people get them. The people that need them. I've had the flu once in my life and no flu shot ever so I'm okay for now.
However, I feel like I did get some mild version of the Norovirus today. Woke up this morning and almost fell out of bed from dizziness. I was nauseous all damn day and still am a bit queasy now. But it was horrible earlier today.
I remember getting Norovirus 2 years ago and I was like a damn geyser. It was horrible. However I did lose almost 10lbs in 2 days so that was fun. :P
Never had the shot....
Never had the flu....
hope this will not be my year......

yeah I don't get the shot. had it bad about 4years ago. and I feel about like that now. blah
I had the flu in 2002, sick as a dog for a solid week, and it probably took a month before I was back to 100%. Since then I always get the shot, nice and easy we get them for free at work.

My wife was just down for a week with the flu and some how I didn't catch it. I slept on the sofa and if she need something I cracked the door and tossed it to her. I don't think I have ever had the flu and I have never had a flu shot.

I had the norovirus last year and it was 6-8 hours of absolute hell. I almost pulled the trigger on going to the hospital... I just lost so much fluid and couldn't hold anything in. I couldn't move.
But, once it was done... it was gone. Completely. I felt great the next day. Weirdest illness.

Similar situation here. Last got it in October 2005. Already had sinus problems but it made them so bad that I finally went in for treatment after I ended up staying sick for the following 3 weeks. This eventually led to the discovery of a bigger problem where a small part of my skull was eroding due to long term untreated sinus problems from a deviated septum. Took a couple of years to fix due to recurrent infections but my nose is now wide open now.
Anyway since then I've gotten a shot every year.
I am though one of the 11% or so that gets a mini flu with the shot that last for about a day or two but it certainly beats getting the real thing.
