Is there any hope that we could get any money back during the owners meeting?

I'm so ****ing tired of this name change bullshit.

Copy that. I grew up on a reservation, still visit every so often, always wore/wear one of my skins caps and sometimes a shirt, sweatshirt or coat and you know what? Not a single Native ever said boo. Some even say it's cool, and especially now with RG.

Enough with the PC bullshit.

While he is about useless, he does make a valid point about the whole cap gate fiasco.

There is nothing valid about it.

Is it "valid" to say say to a rape victim "you shouldn't have dressed that way since you knew it might cause you problems"?

It's actually valid to say "they knew that other owners would be mad about breaking the, totally dishonest and illegal, verbal agreement". That's not the same as "getting themselves in this mess"

That's what I was thinking too. At one point he says we used a "forbidden" tactic, but no one on either side has said that any specific tactic was forbidden, and in fact it is a legal and valid maneuver in all capped years, so unless it was agreed on in the CBA that outlined the do's and don'ts of the uncapped year, and was agreed to by both the owners and players, then the assumption has to be it was a valid move. And the fact that the contracts were approved by the league validates it all the more. His points were regurgitated garbage. The only "valid" thing is that the Skins would have had to gone nuclear to get any fair settlement, and that just shouldn't have been.

valid

"Three years ago NFL owners agreed that teams would not be allowed to exploit the uncapped year to gain a competitive advantage. There was not a written edict violated or a binding contract broken."

i've been looking at business all wrong, binding contracts appear to be overrated, while agreements are all the rage.

I think we all know the NFL owners colluded during that uncapped year. Bill Polian even acknowledged that it was put out that they were not to do anything egregious that would upset the competitive balance within the league. Illegal? Sure. When you are a thief yourself, you unfortunately have to play by the other thieves rules.

While some teams may have tread that same water, I think it's apparent that no team was more obvious about it than the Cowboys and Redskins. I think the reason Jerry Jones got hammered as well is because he single handily caused the franchise tag price (on WRs) to go up that following season and a reason the CHargers didn't tag VJ.

Well, even crooked organizations expects honesty within their ranks. If something is agreed upon by the majority, you either do it or you get punished. They decided not to adhere to the illegal collusion, and it bit them in the ass. Make no mistake about it, the NFL is a collection of shady billionaires doing shady things so they can make more and more money. They lie, they cheat, and they steal. We aren't innocent by no means, it just happens they got slapped for defying the rest of the league.

Also keep in mind that, if we hadnt dumped contracts and gotten hit with the cap penalty, we would have lost the cap space due to carrying those same contracts. Ultimately, due to the illegal collusion, we were screwed either way.

At this point, it really doesnt answer. We've been given a final answer.

Goodell, NFL told Redskins that league will not yield on salary cap penalty (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/03/17/goodell-nfl-told-redskins-that-league-will-not-yield-on-salary-cap-penalty/)

NFL officials, including Commissioner Roger Goodell, informed the Washington Redskins that the league is unwavering on the team’s two-year, $36 million salary cap reduction and has no intention of considering a lessening of the penalty

There's actually one way we weren't screwed. If we were not punished for doing something legal then we'd be good to go. But yeah when the league decides to arbitrarily affect the balance of the playing field then we get screwed. That's what it comes down to.
