As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...

I expect with a year's worth of experience RGIII will have a better idea of what he needs to protect himself so he can have a long and healthy career. I also expect the Skins coaching staff will make the necessary adjustments.

+1 agree completely and is not why we drafted the guy

I completely disagree. I think we drafted him because was an exceptional passer that had the luxury of being able to run. I think we all can agree that the initial plan was to let RG3 run more as he's young and acclimating to the NFL, and as he grows, reduce his designed runs. My point is, I think we have to move up that timetable to make him the pocket passer he can and was eventually intended to be.

Without a doubt RGIII's knee has surpassed the talk of the fiscal cliff and debt ceiling. It is easily the most talked about knee in the DMV if not the NFL.

I tend to agree with letting him run, but I think to compliment that ability he MUST develop his game as a pocket passer. He will slow down. If this doesn't than time will eventually. To last 10 plus years as a franchise quarterback RG3 will have to learn to be a pocket passer. We all know he has a rocket, good vision, accuracy, etc. He has all the tools, and to be sure his knee effected his game in many ways Sunday, but if he can't be a pocket passer w/o the threat of options, keepers, bootlegs, etc. than he will sizzle out early in his career. I am extremely confidant this young man will do that, but I hope he can stay out of the way of his ego. I think he will, he is obviously not himself right now, can we really blame him for being pissed?

The designed runs were already way down in the 2nd half of the season. Of course he's going to be more of a pocket passer in the future. But he's also a dynamic runner. It would be foolish to bottle that part of his game up completely.

The dude will potentially have two torn ACLs in his career, I don't think there is a point to uncecessarily tempt fate and risk his career. If I'm his coach, I'd definitely move up that timetable and limit the runs even more.

I'm not saying dump the roll outs and bootlegs, I'm just saying use some caution with how we use this kid on designed runs. I don't think that's an unreasonable suggestion to mold this guy into the pocket passer he's meant to be.

We're saying the same thing basically, and the offense was already evolving.

And Herm, that's why you aren't coaching in the NFL.

Well let me ask this ,how many times can you rebuild a knee before .....it affects play?Already been done in College and now seems like it will be done after 1 year in the NFL,I don't know so I'm asking, how much more can his knee take?

Perhaps, but my stance might be a bit more extreme.
