Dan Snyder says he fired Vinny Cerrato for letting him hire Jim Zorn (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/wp/2013/01/29/dan-snyder-says-he-fired-vinny-cerrato-for-letting-him-hire-jim-zorn/)

Headline sums it up. An interesting nugget nonetheless.

Hilarious! I love it.

Whatever reason Dan has for firing Vinny is a good one to me...although the axe came down about 10 years late.

Myers also reported that Jim Fassel was so convinced he was getting the job in early 2008 that “he started to gather his belongings in Phoenix for the move to Washington.” But fans were rebelling, and Zorn wound up with the gig.

Look everyone, it was OUR FAULT that Zorn was hired!

I was for Fassel over Zorn. My choice was Gregg Williams at the time...I have to tell the truth!

I mean the truth is Snyder let Cerrato hire Zorn because Cerrato's ego was too fragile to handle an established HC

Danny smith staying or leaving makes no difference to me. Maybe he can take banks with him too.

I'm in the same position as you. To me he seemed like a middle of the road ST coach. He definitely was not the worst but I have always felt we could be doing a LOT better.

Almost happy he's gone.

The man obviously doesnt want to be a st coach his entire life, its the rite thing to do.

Im confused. I thought he was going to Pittsburg to be a Special Teams Coach

That screams bad judgement??? Back to my point earlier.

I'm sure your going to point to the word "established" but what about Gibbs?

Well Gibbs' is unique. But the key difference is there is Cerrato wasn't in charge. After Gibbs left, Snyder put Cerrato in charge of all football operations. Made it his show to run to show that he could be the guy, not the foot soldier.

But while most good managers want a strong team under them, Cerrato didn't, for fear that some would be good enough to eventually make Cerrato irrelevant.

Very stupid on Cerratos part. I dont know how he couldnt have had the foresight to realize that if he doesnt have a good coach, and strong personnel people, he wouldnt have a good team, and he'd lose his job.

Montreal needs the slip 'n slide. How do you say "Horny for Zorny" in French?
