After years of losing seasons, wading thru QB after QB, FINALLY...

Incredible Honor for RG3 - This coming from a man who Coached the legendary John Elway!

Mike Shanahan: No one in NFL history has played at RG3′s level | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/28/mike-shanahan-no-one-in-nfl-history-has-played-at-rg3s-level/related/)
Coach Mike Shanahan was the head coach of a Broncos team that had a Hall of Fame quarterback in John Elway, and he was the offensive coordinator of a 49ers team that had two Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Joe Montana and Steve Young. But Shanahan says he has never seen anything like the quarterback he’s coaching right now.

Shanahan told reporters on Thursday that Griffin’s array of talents is unprecedented in NFL history.

He has a chance to break three NFL rookie passing records (highest passer rating, highest completion percentage and lowest interception percentage), and he also has 752 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He’s playing the quarterback position like no one has ever played it.

RGIII wins Rookie of the Week (http://www.nfl.com/voting/rookies/2012/REG/16) for the 7th time!

gotta think his RoY chances are pretty good if wilson threw for 4tds and couldn't grab a RotW award from him.

I wouldn't call RGIII's talent unprecedented. Incredible, yes. But Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton (jerk) have elite skillsets that are kinda similar in their own ways. He's probably the best QB in a draft class that may turn out better than the 1983 QB draft class! Certainly if the pistol and read-option become long-time staples in the NFL, RGIII should be the first QB thought of when remembering when those features became popular in the pros.

Rg3 is the only rookie voted to the pro bowl. He's won rookie of the week 7 out of the 15 weeks he's played. Lucks won it 3 times. wilson once. Given the results of the voting in those polls, I don't know how Wilson or luck could win rookie of the year over rg3.

It should be noted that redskins rookies have won the award 10 out of 16 weeks (Morris won twice and cousins once). When's the last time we've had such an impact full draft class?

I'm so happy RG3 is a Redskin! He's taken the NFL by a thousand storms already in his rookie year. Just imagine how great he'll be by his 5th or 6th year in the NFL.

You have to take into account RG3 is a rookie, and what RG3 has accomplished as a rookie.
And if this rookie talent (RG3) isnt unprecedented, what NFL rookie is? Or ever was?

I will go with what Shanahan has said since he witnessed first hand what "incredible" talent looks like compared to unprecedented talent as is RG3!

"Incredibly", take away his rookie status and his talent is still "Unprecedented" ;)

yeah, i'd say 3 different rookies of the week is a pretty good confirmation that our FO has finally gotten its ish together. the lerib pick is still weird, but he really hasn't played.

Yeah but Andrew Luck is a winner and Russell Wilson is in a market where no one pays attention. If Wilson played in a major market he would be a shoe in. RG3 is all hype and he plays in a college offense #ReverseTrollGaze
