Are you now convinced the Redskins are a complete team? (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2012/12/17/are-you-now-convinced-the-redskins-are-a-complete-team/)
^ After reading this I thought it might make for some interesting discussion here.
Funny how just 5 weeks ago we were discussing blowing the whole thing up... Now where do you stand?

I had bought into the plan a lonnggg time ago and, although shaken, my moronic faith in it has never been broken. We are drafting lots of young guys. Some will stick, some will not, some may never be more than cheap solid back-ups before moving on.
We have a good young core of talented atheletes who would be starters on just about any team in the league (Davis, T. Williams, Morris, Kerrigan, Orakpo, Riley (?), Jackson) and we appear to be growing from within. Investment has been made in the O-line and the franchise appears to be more concerned with what you show on the field than how high-profile you are in the off-season. Rather than a collection of individuals, Shanny has been, and is continuing, to build a team.
It has taken three years but I believe the Stink of Cerrato is finally being washed away.

I will admit to that I was completely wrong about Shanahan, I compared him to other coaches and he was not as successful, but he has proven me wrong. I like being wrong when it comes to the Redskins being good. But my friend said he will get our team rolling in the right direction and then leave it for the next coach (like his son) and that coach will be the one winning playoff games and possible superbowls. I believe that is true.

I'm buying about 80% of it. The only part I don't buy is our pass rush depth and Secondary. Those still need to be fixed.
But so far with our recent drafts, I'm loving what I'm seeing. Alfred Morris, Richard Crawford, Aldrick Robinson, Royster. Those are some solid picks.

I have and had bought into the approach. How the approach is implemented is most important....that's where many teams miss. For years we screamed "we need a GM" but my response has always been.."we need a GOOD GM". Doing things the right way and doing the right things are different.
I wasn't convinced Shanny was doing the right things but I am becoming quite a believer. I have always thought he was doing things the right way...for the first time in a while around Redskins Park.

gotta have a lil faith that will get better, we will always need improvement at at least one spot. No roster is perfect in the NFL

^^^ Yup. I like the "right way" / "right things" dichotomy. Cerrato did neither. I am with you, I think Shanny has, generally, been doing things the right way - investing in young depth, building the roster from within, etc. He has done some wrong things and I think we are one or two solid drafts from "fixing" the depth issues.
We need to get to the point where we are drafting less from a "Omigod so many holes! Draft for need! Draft for need!!" to "We have holes but we can afford to pick the best available more often than not."
