Why are we talking about a college coach who hasn't coached in the NFL for close to 10 years now..
ESPN: Why did Steve Spurrier fail in NFL?CultBrennan59 12-14-2012, 06:15 PM Why are we talking about a college coach who hasn't coached in the NFL for close to 10 years now.. That Guy 12-14-2012, 07:21 PM because it looks like chip kelly may be making the jump, and if you wanted to speculate as to whether or not he can succeed, perspective on what went wrong with previous college phenoms may prove insightful. and cause it still part of redskins history. but i don't know, next time you bring up a draft prospect i'll ask why we're discussing people who aren't even in the nfl, or whatnot. if you're not happy with the thread, you're free to ignore it. Then talk about Chip Kelly, not Spurrier who has said he will never go back to the pros again. Why should really look back at something so bad when we having something so good right in front of us. And the draft is relevant, when Kiper and McShay come out, the draft starts to become important. Also I made that thread back when we were looking and a lot of us thought our season was done (even Shanahan) Swarley 12-15-2012, 05:46 AM This is pretty interesting and I'm glad I've read through this thread. That's just me though... Wow. Amazing info. Thanks a lot for sharing. SMoot, you should write a tell all book one day and call it "Snyder: The man you never knew". I'd be first in line to buy it. Only if I could get a signed copy. :silly: I'd be second in line! Very interesting stuff. CRedskinsRule 12-15-2012, 06:17 AM Why are we talking about a college coach who hasn't coached in the NFL for close to 10 years now.. Yes, lets never talk about historical facts or bad times, that way they never happened... smh That Guy 12-15-2012, 09:18 AM because we have new information and it gives an insight into how f'd up that whole episode was... which is what i've already said. again, no one is forcing you to read this or respond, so feel free not to. redskin29633 12-16-2012, 11:31 PM To much ego, to little work ethic. This simple statement really captures the essence of Spurrier's problems in Washington. A very good friend of mine & myself actually knew two of Coach Spurrier's assistants. They were both candid about the lack of work ethic, the preference for golf over film study and practice, & Spurrier's arrogance with regard to "knowing more" than other coaches. Derailed his NFL career in a hurry! Bishop Hammer 10-13-2015, 12:41 AM This thread makes me inexplicably feel like playing golf. Thats funny, it makes me want to weep. Its also funny how he still holds a grudge against The Redskins(siding with Shanny when he bashes them) then he quits on the his new team as soon as things get tough, like he did here. Grrrrr, I will despise that coach for as long as I bleed Burgundy & Gold. Orakpwned 10-13-2015, 04:03 PM Some guys are just college coaches. Spurrier was just a college coach. calia 10-13-2015, 05:08 PM Spurrier is a douche. Knowing that the great Joe Gibbs slept about 2 hours per day for years to hone his craft, you have to be a grade A douche to come in and think you can win with no work behind it. And that's exactly what he proved to be. Screw him and his stupid visors. Ol ball coach was a sackless weasel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
