I think our d has shown we have some solid players, that can sustain a game. We simply need a few guys back healthy, and better safety play. Griffin, Garcon and Morris don't count as playmakers?
D is fine considering the injuries. No Carriker, Orakpo, Merriweather, or Nield among others. The real break out we need to shoot for is 2014. Cap penalties expire and RG3 will be going into his third year.

Am i insane to think we have as good a shot as any to do something really special THIS year? Especially in tge NFC. I think Houston Denver and NE are in their own class. But - if we make a run we would only have to beat one of them. Im actually thinking this way without any koolaid. Strange.

Not that anyone should care (and I'm sure everyone loves to hear high school football stories, (and not to reveal anything about who I am)), but when I was playing I had an injury in a scrimmage that was very similar to this. Basically a helmet to the knee, no structural damage. Trainors (not the high school girl ones) looked at it and said it was a "sprain." (no MRIs or x-rays), but I couldn't walk for the rest of the day, then not much the next day. It had me very worried..... But by day three it was much better, and I was back practicing by day 4. Missed no time during the season, which opened about a week later.
I guess my point is that these things happen, and if there is no structural damage the rule of thumb should (or at least for me) be that you play when you feel you can. Just because it hurts or looks bad doesn't mean it is bad.
Of course RGIII is a $100+ million asset (not investment, asset), so I would not expect him back on the field until the Pope says its ok.

Word is that RGIII has a grade 1 sprain, that means he might be able to play next week:
According to the Web site, a Grade 1 sprain involves stretching and micro-tearing of ligament tissue. A Grade 2 sprain involves partial tearing of the ligament and mild instability of the joint when it is tested. A Grade 3 sprain involves severe or complete tearing of the ligament and significant joint instability. “The more ligaments that are involved means the more severe the injury,” the web site notes
According to the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, an athlete with a first-degree sprain of a joint “may be able to continue to play or will usually return to play in a few days.” An athlete with a second-degree sprain could need a brace and usually will miss 1-4 weeks, according to the NATA literature, and an athlete with a third-degree sprain of a joint could need a brace or faces possible surgery and could be sidelined for three weeks to 12 months depending on the course of treatment.
How bad is Robert Griffin III’s injury? His status for Sunday remains unclear (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2012/12/10/how-bad-is-robert-griffin-iiis-injury-his-status-for-sunday-remains-unclear/)

I'm tempted to keep RG3 on the sidelines for this Sunday, especially if it is a wet, snowy field in Cleveland next week

I voted for Richard Crawford because he was the player who put the Redskins in the position to win the game on that 64 yard punt return in OT. Forbath is a close 2nd, going 3/3 and nailing the game winner.

Safety, CB, RT, could all use an upgrade. If there's a chance of getting a good pass rushing DE, you need to get him. Orakpo or not, that would help the secondary a lot. I still have some hope that Jenkins can be that guy but you can't count on it. This was basically his first year after coming off a major injury his rookie season.
