he was running....less severe injuries happen when running and diving than in the pocker absorbing hits. Ask Cutler
Dude, read my post, I am saying he should slide. That hit he took was completely unnecessary and he accomplished nothing by taking it.

Does sacrificing your body so that it is a 3rd and 4 when you could have slid to make it a 3rd and 6 help the team win?
And where in my post did I say he should stay in the pocket? I said he needs to slide and avoid hits completely because, let's be honest, his 218 lb frame can't take hits from guys like Ngata who outweigh him by more than a 100 lbs.
This stuff just makes me face-palm. If he's just going to sit back there and take a sack, we might as well have started Grossman and kept the picks. If you insist RG3 stops all of his "RG3-ness', we're right back to square one and possibly wouldn't have won a game all year.

I love self-defeating arguments -- LOOK AT VICK!!! all that talent which is in a sense wasted because he doesn't play smart. If you're really a competitor, and not an imbecile, you realize that you would rather sacrifice some meaningless yards now for 5 more years of playing rather than get those yards and be out of the game much sooner than you would like. Is Tom Brady not competitive because he doesn't sacrifice his body in the same way?
Brady sacrifices his body by hanging in their till the last minute until so he can throw to his receiver. Why does Big Ben get injured? Because he waits until the last minute and then throws the ball. They might not be scrambling because they know they can't but they are competitive for every yard in their own way. Remember when Brady tore his ACL? its because he was waiting until the last minute to throw it downfield. So Brady, Big Ben, Manning all sacrifice their bodies they just do it in a different way buy hanging in the pocket in order to make the proper throw. Griffin does it by scrambling and hanging in the pocket until the last minute. Manning needed neck surgeries because he took hits in order to get the ball downfield. Great quarterbacks are competitive for every yard in their own ways.

It happens all the time. I mean (and I HATE cliches) but hindsight is 20/20. There are a number of instances this year where he COULD have slid and the game might have had a different outcome.

I suppose...still, I guess hindsight is 20/20 and RG3 really should not have taken that hit. Good points.
