If this happens, which I highly doubt, the new stadium will be a dome. It's the only way we'll get a Super Bowl in DC.

RedskinRat 12-08-2012, 07:06 PM That would work for me. BaltimoreSkins 12-08-2012, 08:20 PM Well, to be like Seattle, all the Skins have to do is install big speakers. I can't imagine the FBI moving to PG County. I have to believe that Fairfax County is the desired location, for everyone involved. The RFI that prompted all of this chatter says that the location must be >55 acres and within a mile of a Metro stop. If the Redskins move that far away from Maryland they might lose some more of Maryland to the Ravens. Not sure if Snyder would be okay with that. Giantone 12-08-2012, 08:59 PM I dunno about a dome but field turf is definitely in order.FIELD TURF sucks!Take it for what it is worth more players getting hurt from the turf then from hits!As for playing in DC they never should have left, the deal JKC struck with PG county will keep the Skins there fore at least 10 more years, remember PG paid for the infrastucture all around the stadium and the Beltway and they just brought metro out there, the way I understand it if they leave early it must all be paid back.2nd question is what do you do with Fed Ex,with the cost of a new stadium and this ,even Dan Snyder doesn't have the money. cpayne5 12-08-2012, 09:10 PM If the Redskins move that far away from Maryland they might lose some more of Maryland to the Ravens. Not sure if Snyder would be okay with that. FedEx is only 6 miles east of RFK. Not sure 6 miles would really make that much of a difference... mbedner3420 12-08-2012, 09:16 PM Stay at FedEx. Is a nice modern stadium. Who cares if the stadium isn't in DC itself. A lot of nfl teams are located in different cities/states than their team names indicate. Modern stadium? It's a massive piece of crap. I honestly don't think it's a bad thing to move it into DC. For me, I'd rather have the stadium in VA close to the training facility. Dan Snyder is rich but not rich enough to just let fed Ex go ,smart move would be to tear it down play at the old RFK and build a new {dome}) at Fed Ex 44ever 12-09-2012, 09:26 AM Im all for the move! calia 12-09-2012, 11:48 AM This sounds phony to me. How the Redskins could influence what the FBI does or enable such a move is far from apparent. And it is likewise hard to imagine that the overall bottom line for Snyder would be better making the move - he would surely have to sink in a ton of money for such an endeavor whereas he's making a mint off the team in it's current digs. Even. If a new stadium increased revenue, it is hard to imagine the increase would cover the costs even when amortizing over the remaining 15 years of the FedEx lease. Since its only 6 miles, why bother moving to begin with? |
