So CG appealed and lost and will now miss four games. The Seahawk guys appealed and played? What am I missing?

their appeals haven't been heard yet. they can play until that is ruled upon.

cg's hearing has been heard and denied.

Thanks. So CG probably failed his test first? Because we all knew about Seattles guys

on the glass half full side, the next 4 games aren't against high powered offenses. clearly we will have struggles and see lots of 3rd and longs completed, but this isn't a knockout blow. and griffin will be back if we do get to a playoff game.

I could see still beating the browns and the eagles, I think the cowboys might be the hardest if bryant gets his act together.

wouldn't be a skins season without drama...

I am guessing that's the case, but also could be that the redskins were more circumspect with the info and only acknowledged it once the decision was final. instead of as soon as it was a likelihood of suspension along the lines of the seahawks.

Well I think you are rite about these last four games being against lesser offenses and Griff comes back for the playoffs. Hope the Seahawks suspensions bite them in their ass for the playoffs.

Edit: NC im assuming you meant to say the Seattle guys DID NOT appeal? Leads me back to my original question. We all know Seattle guys failed tests so how long do they have to appeal? I guess what im getting at is why the different strategies between CG and Seattles guys as far as getting the ball rolling on the suspensions?

I think you need to reread what I said. You are confusing your own self here.

Cedric Griffin failed his drug test sometime back. He appealed. He was allowed to play during this time of appeal. He lost the appeal and was suspended after the appeal this week. The public had 0 knowledge of his failed drug test or appeal.

The Seahawk guys failed their drug test. They are appealing. They are allowed to play until their appeal is heard. Their failed drug test was leaked to the public.

The only difference here is, the public knew about the Seahawks failed drug tests. We didn't know jack shit about Cedric's failed drug test or his appeal process until after it was over.

That clear? Shit can be confusing sometimes if you don't know how the process works.

Another fun fact about the drug policy. If a player is being suspended, it means that he has in fact failed TWO drug tests. Suspensions aren't levied until after a player has had 2 failed drug tests.

So Cedric Griffin has failed another drug test (either this team or his previous ones) prior to the one he's being suspended for. This is actually his 2nd offense he's being suspended for. Keep that in mind when you start saying....."he made a mistake". No, he made TWO mistakes.... If you don't hear about any appeal process, it means the process already occurred when the corrective measure is being handed down.

Like I said, most of the failed drug tests are kept very quiet do to the legality of patient records and such.

Pretty dumb policy. Adderall is not performance enhancing, just helps you focus. Not sure why they would list this as a banned substance. Plenty of ppl take adderall, just helps you focus. I'm not condoning it, but it's not like taking steroids...

The only good thing is, he should be allowed to come back for our first playoff game...

Like thinking you can only see the sunset if you live in California? :)
I was not aware that the Seahawks appeal process wasnt over yet. What you said was "they appealed thats why they played last week" - not "there has been no judgement in their appeal yet and thats why they played last week". Little different. The fact that we knew about the Hawks and not CG, yet CG is already suspended and Hawks arent was confusing me. Understand the process - just wasnt in tune with the particulars in these two circumstances.

Adderal can give you added focus on and off the field. But is that actually what PED CG failed on? SS can correct me if I'm wrong, but the NFL is unique in that they are not allowed to disclose the specific PED. So players' agents leak "adderal" as the PED, if their client fails a test and appeal, when it probably is in fact steroids or hgh.

I don't think adderall should be a PED but from what I understand it tends to be used as a cover up for "actual" PEDs.
