Odds are Brown will be back with NE. He said he wants to test the FA pool, but odds are that he will be back in NE. And out of all those cuts the only that hurts is Andruzzi. They will get someone to fill in.

Daseal 03-03-2005, 04:28 PM You mean how Pierce and Smoot want to test to free agent pool? =p TheMalcolmConnection 03-03-2005, 04:46 PM Ha. Nice one. I'm getting to where I don't care anymore. I just wish we could retain MOST of our players (which it seems we are doing) and addressing our glaring needs. I'm sick of being concerned about players whos only concerns are loyalty to themselves. hurrykaine 03-03-2005, 04:50 PM Man, losing Wilbert Brown and Zero Flemister sure hurts their chances next year...I'm selling! hahahahaha PSUskinsfan11 03-03-2005, 05:13 PM Losing Law isn't a big deal because he was a huge cap number and they just traded for Duane Starks and he will do just fine. TheMalcolmConnection 03-03-2005, 05:23 PM With the way that Dallas has been signing people, maybe Law will go there? :( sportscurmudgeon 03-03-2005, 05:26 PM Daseal: Phifer is a good and solid LB buit is hardly irreplceable. If they lose him, it will hurt more than the loss of T. Brown but not as much as Andruzzi and/or Law. jdlea 03-03-2005, 05:51 PM Troy Brown is a media hero because he played both ways - and some on special teams too - for much of last season. Fact is that he was the #4 wide receiver and the nickel/dime back and at season's end he returned about one punt per game. Translation: he was a sub on defense and a sub on offense and a sub on special teams. HIs versatility is amazing in this day of specialization, but he was a stop-gap everywhere, If the Pats kept him, he would cost $5M in real money and $5M in salary cap room. That's a lot to pay a guy who is a stop-gap. I'm not gonna go another big ass rant about Troy Brown. However, he was the #4 receiver and the nickel back for the simple fact that he was playing both ways. He wasn't going to play every single down. And if they didn't want to pay the guy $5 mil, you restructure the deal. In fact, he might be getting re-signed. MTK 03-03-2005, 06:26 PM They have to make moves and tough decisions just like the rest of the league. I don't see any glaring mistakes from NE yet though. |
