When we were on defense the crowd seemed pretty damn loud on TV.[/QUOTE
Yeah it was loud on def,and i know crowd is supposed to be quiet on off,I just thought at times it seemed way too quiet, but I guess it was only me that got that felling, not a big deal
BigHairedAristocrat 12-05-2012, 12:00 PM This will be my only post about this, but basically we're within (most) of the rest of the league, give or take 10 hits. If 10 hits is what determines the longevity of a QB, then strong post to you sir.
I refuse to believe that his "style of play" is what's going to suddenly have him crumbling into a puddle of injury-prone mediocrity. This is also assuming the other guys in the league AREN'T running QBs. If you look at those stats, Luck is going to be out of the league in a year! TOO MANY HITS!!!!!!!! OMGZZ!1!11!
You completely ignore the fact that Griffin isnt built as stoutly as a guy like Luck or most of the other mobile starting QBs in the league. He's very lanky and built more like a wide receiver than a quarterback. He doesnt have the build to take as many hits over as long of a period of time.
Earlier in the season, Griffin commented that he's incredibly sore after most games, but he's tough and takes good care of his body so he can recover. His body wont continue to recover so quickly indefinitely. Anyone who thinks Griffin can continue to play exactly like he's playing now and continue taking the kind of hits he's taking for the next 5-10 years is foolish. Hopefully, we'll have a better pass-blocking offensive line and RGIII will become more adept at avoiding the big hits in subsequent seasons.
RG3 has room to put on some more weight. I wouldn't be surprised to see him bulk up some more in the coming years.
EARTHQUAKE2689 12-05-2012, 12:06 PM Eli Manning Height: 6-4 Weight: 218
Robert Griffin III: Height: 6-2 Weight: 217
Brett Favre: Height: 6'2" Weight: 222
I get that Griffin takes hits, but 2 other qbs above with similar build had extremely long "injury free" streaks. Eli rarely takes hits, Favre though was hit fairly frequently in his time in the league, in fact in his first 10 years was sacked more than 25 times in 9 of them. Add in the protection given to qb's nowadays, and the whole hit issue seems like a bit of a red herring.
Now of course, if he were to go down, a lot of people would be saying see!!!, but fact is every year quarterbacks go down. Brady has, Stafford has, Romo has been concussed several times I believe, Aikman left due to concussions. It is a brutal sport, and if teams know that the qb is dangerous, they will want to take as many hits on him as they get paid for (oops, I mean as they can).
Did Griffin lose six pounds??? He was 223 at the combine.

took it from NFL's stat page.

I would still lean towards the 223 lb stat from the combine. But going back to the topic, I don't see how his "style of play" which is pass first, and run if need be is gonna magically get him hurt.
NC_Skins 12-05-2012, 12:22 PM Anybody remember this?
Jason Pierre-Paul, New York Giants prepare to face Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins - ESPN New York (http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8517080/jason-pierre-paul-new-york-giants-prepare-face-robert-griffin-iii-washington-redskins)
JPP saying don't bring it to his side in regards to the first game.
QB Griffin, 46-yd, run - NFL Videos (http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/0ap2000000105689/QB-Griffin-46-yd-run)
Now I can see why he didn't want us to bring it to his side. So we wouldn't make him look like a total clown on national TV :laughing-
I can see why Coughlin had this look on his face most of the night.

JPP was absolutely owned by "Bob" this year.

There has been a many a coach have that look when facing a good triple option team. Just usually not in the NFL!!!!

I agree with the 223 part, but even at 217, he's not some scrawny pencil thin guy. My only point was Eli is 2 inches taller at the same listed weight, and Favre, the qb iron man, was the same height and basically the same weight. As Matty said, he will put bulk on in the offseasons and his frame certainly looks to support it.
